Programs, events, grants, internships...there's a lot going on over here at Artist Trust in the next few weeks, and we would love to share it with you!
We have two deadlines coming up in November, so now is a great time to apply for the 2015 Arts Innovator Awards or submit art for our 2016 Benefit Art Auction.
We'd also love to give a warm welcome to Kristina Goetz, our new Development Director! And w e're still seeking awesome interns to help with our 2016 Benefit Art Auction and tackle exciting projects documenting artists and cataloging our history.

Artist Trust commemorates 30 years of fueling individual artists at the 2016 Benefit Art Auction, and we are accepting submissions! In addition to quality visual art, jewelry and craft, we encourage proposals for Art Experiences such as trips to art destinations, creative classes, exclusive performances, screenings, or readings, and behind the scenes tours. Welcome, Kristina!

We're pleased to welcome Kristina Goetz as our new Development Director!
With over ten years experience in the non-profit sector, Kristina has served organizations representing almost every arts discipline, including visual art, theater, modern dance, performance art, and popular and classical music. Raised in New York City's Lower East Side and Queens, Kristina came of age in Florida, where she began her career with roles such as Director of Annual Giving for the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and Director of Development for the Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival.
Kristina relocated to Seattle in 2008, taking up residence at The Josephine, the Ballard underground performance space, and working for Seattle arts and culture organizations including leadership roles at The Vera Project, Northwest Folklife and most recently The Center for Wooden Boats. She is a board member at the Washington Low Income Housing Alliance, a statewide advocacy organization. |

Arts Innovator Award Applications Now Open
|

Applications for the 2015 Arts Innovator Award (AIA) are now open! The AIA provides two $25,000 awards to Washington State generative artists who are originating new work, experimenting with new ideas, taking risks, and pushing the boundaries in their field.
Application and information can be found here. The deadline is November 23, 2015 at 10:59 pm.
The Arts Innovator Awards are made possible through a generous gift from The Dale and Leslie Chihuly Foundation.

Catching up with Artist Trust grant recipients and grads!
- 2015 Fellowship recipient Todd Jannausch and wife Chandler Woodfin recently founded Feast Arts Center in Tacoma. Join them for the Preview Party during the Tacoma Studio Tour on October 17.
- 2015 Fellowship recipient and sculptor Aaron Haba has been commissioned by Bellevue Arts Museum to display Sanctuary, a new site-specific work, through September 2016.
- 2012 EDGE graduate Danielle Foushée was awarded a commission to create a large-scale permanent public art installation in Meridian, Idaho.

- October 17: Tacoma Studio Tour / 35 locations around Tacoma: Come see the spaces in and tools with which 57 local artists create their work. Ask questions, purchase one-of-a-kind creations, and even try your hand at creating your own masterpiece. All studios will feature demonstrations of the artistic process or will have hands-on activities for visitors.
