THREE GIRLS GOSSIP
rustic_pumpkin_pie.jpg As we shared in our last issue of Hip Happenings, our team loves the fall! As we enjoy this season, here are our favorite foods common during this time of year:

Erika: "Candied sweet potatoes are a seasonal favorite of mine. I bake the potatoes and then mix them with butter, brown sugar, some crushed pineapple and melt Plush Puffs Gourmet Caramel Swirl marshmallows on top. So good! I also love butternut squash ravioli, and this year I'm looking forward to eating the spaghetti squash from our garden. I also just used turnips from our garden in a scrumptious pot roast - a delicious and hearty dish for a fall dinner! "

Emily: "I used to be allergic to dairy, but now that I'm not I love to fill up on pumpkin pie! I also enjoy sweet potatoes, so it's not uncommon for me to indulge this time of year."

Beth: "Butternut squash is one of my favorite seasonal foods to experiment with in the kitchen! I recently made some butternut squash lasagna, where I even made my own flat pasta noodles. The result was delicious; creamy, nutty and perfect for fall!"

Natalie: "I love apple sausage stuffing. I only get it once a year at Thanksgiving if I'm lucky. I crave it the rest of the time."

HOT HEADLINES
Have you seen our clients in the news recently? Here are a couple of recent media placements we secured:

The Huffington Post included My Hope Chest in a list of helpful resources for those diagnosed with breast cancer. "My Hope Chest is a social service organization focused on reconstructive surgery for uninsured or under insured women. (727) 488-0320." See the article here

HIVPlusMag.com shared Adam & Eve's latest infographic about STDs on their website. "Among the most alarming stats: Eighty-five percent of Americans with herpes (42 million people) don't know it. That statistic and the others shared below (courtesy a study from the retailer Adam & Eve) are disturbing reminders that HIV isn't the only sexually transmitted disease that people need to protect themselves against." TIPS & TRICKS
3 Content Marketing Lessons from Planting Flower Bulbs: Fall is the perfect time to prepare your garden for spring. I recently got outside and planted the bulbs for more than 200 flowers in advance of frosty winter temperatures. While digging, shoveling and scooping dirt from the ground, I thought of a couple of similarities between this process and content marketing. Here are three lessons you can apply to your next campaign.

Using Images in Digital Marketing: Are you using images in your digital marketing? From your company's blog to its social media networks, it's vital that you include high-quality photos to capture consumers' attention. As the statistics show:
  1. 90% of information transmitted to the brain is visual, and visuals are processed 60,000 times faster in the brain than text.
  2. 40% of people respond better to visual information than plain text.
  3. Publishers who use infographics grow in traffic an average of 12% more than those who don't.
  4. On Facebook, photos perform best for likes, comments and shares as compared to text, video and links.

How can you wrap more visuals into your digital marketing efforts? Read this blog post to find out.

3 Social Media Marketing Lessons from "Why Not Me": This past weekend I spent my time doing something I almost never do: I read a book. An actual book with pages in a hard back cover! What got me so excited to read? Mindy Kaling released her second book, Why Not Me. I eagerly anticipated my Amazon package and couldn't wait to crack it open. After finishing her latest literary work, I couldn't help but noting that the book displayed many social media marketing tools we use every day. Check them out here.
