THREE GIRLS GOSSIP

july-fourth-sparkler.jpg How do you like to celebrate the 4th of July? Here's what our team enjoys about the holiday:

Erika: "My favorite 4th of July was last year. We'd just purchased the acreage we were going to build our dream home on. We bought some sparklers and enjoyed watching their glowing sparks as we looked forward to the construction project ahead. This 4th of July marks 4 months since we've moved into our new home and once again we're looking forward to celebrating. This year we'll get more sparklers and I'll be firing up my smoker for some great BBQ pork ribs and sausages."

Natalie: "My favorite 4th of July memory is actually from July 3rd. When I was little my family and I used to go to the South Sound Mall (which is now just a Target and Kohl's), and we'd bring snacks and watch fireworks from there. It would be so crowded but they put on a really good show."

Beth: "The 3rd of July is my first wedding anniversary, so this year (and every year forever!) I'll be celebrating that in addition to the usual firework festivities. My husband and I will be traveling to Hell's Canyon, Idaho for some kayaking, sunbathing and relaxation. After that, we'll light up sparklers and eat some great BBQ; I hear they serve elk where we're going!"

Emily: "I have fond memories of the 4th of July. Some years, my parents' bluegrass band would play at a square dance. Other years, we'd go to my mom's wind symphony concert and see a historical society shoot off live cannons during the 1812 Overture. Since moving to Washington, my family and I usually spend the day relaxing with friends by a lake, or shooting off fireworks. I'm not sure what's in store this year, but it will likely be fun!"

CLIENT CHITCHAT
My Hope Chest and Ambay Plastic Surgery Team Up To Help Breast Cancer Survivor

After a previous failed attempt at breast reconstruction, breast cancer survivor, Laurie Gilsdorf, will receive a tummy tuck tissue transplant (DIEP flap) to reconstruct her breast tomorrow thanks to our client, My Hope Chest, and Ambay Plastic Surgery. My Hope Chest is the only national organization that funds breast reconstruction for uninsured and under insured breast cancer survivors.

Tummy tuck tissue transplant surgery consists of removing the tissue in a tummy tuck and transferring it to the breast for reconstruction. Ambay Plastic Surgery is the only private group in Tampa, Florida that has specialized training in this procedure. By performing the unique reconstruction he creates a natural looking and feeling breast.

"There are no words to really convey my excitement and thanks to My Hope Chest and Dr. Ambay for this opportunity to feel like a butterfly again," Laurie said.

"We are so pleased to have an opportunity to team up with My Hope Chest to help Laurie Gilsdorf," said Dr. Ambay. "Breast cancer has turned Laurie's life upside down. She has been so strong and we will help her to complete her journey by transplanting normally discarded tummy tuck tissue to her breast."

TIPS & TRICKS

3 PR Lessons from Experimenting with Bacon: Recently while browsing Pinterest, I found an interesting recipe to cook bacon and eggs in a whole new way. As a newbie to experimenting with bacon, I was so excited to try it! The process was delicious and maybe not so nutritious, but it taught me a few things I could apply to public relations. Here are 3 PR lessons from experimenting with bacon.

4 Public Relations Lessons from Mongolian BBQ: What does Mongolian BBQ have in common with public relations? Last night I went to dinner at one of my favorite family-owned restaurants in town, and as I was enjoying my delicious mixture of noodles, beef, chicken and veggies, I started to think about how this scrumptious meal was like PR. 3 Social Media Lessons from Orange is the New Black: Over the past week, I, like most Netflix account holders, binge watched the latest season of Orange is the New Black. I am a new fan of the show, but after seeing all of the posts and excitement on social media about it, I was inspired to start watching. After watching the show and following it on Facebook and Twitter, here are three social media lessons I learned from the Netflix original series.
