THREE GIRLS GOSSIP

Happy 10th anniversary to Three Girls! This past June 6 marks a decade since we opened our doors to help get the word out about small and emerging companies across the country. A big thank you to all of you that have trusted us with your business over the past decade; we couldn't have achieved this milestone without you!

Of course, when Three Girls opened, our business was a bit different. Curious how we've changed over the years?

  1. Our staff is now completely virtual! What started as a small team huddled around Erika's dining room table has expanded to an efficient staff telecommuting throughout Washington State.
  2. Now we offer an a la carte menu so you can pick and choose the services that are a good fit for your company.
  3. As digital and content marketing emerged, we expanded our services from strictly media relations to offer blog writing, social media management and more.

As you can see, one of the reasons we've thrived over the past 10 years is our ability to change with the times. For example, do you realize that in 2005, social media was in its very beginning stages? Facebook was limited to college students and users could only register with their university's email address once it was opened up to their school!

Here are a few other fun facts about the world in 2005:

  • "Chuck Norris Facts" gained popularity online
  • Carrie Underwood won the fourth season of 'American Idol'
  • Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (the book) was released - the world had no idea how the series ended yet!
  • The Disneyland Resort celebrated its 50th birthday
  • Batman Begins was released in theaters

3 Social Media Lessons from Hand Washing Dishes - Unfortunately, even in 2015, I do not have the luxury of an automatic dishwasher; fortunately, however, standing over a sink has taught me lessons in social media. It may seem odd to find lessons from such a mundane activity, but taking care of each dish is like managing a social media account. How Write a Blog: Brainstorming Topics [Guide] - Last week we explained why it's important to write a blog for your business, but what do you do if you have trouble coming up with topic ideas? 4 PR Lessons from Growing an Avocado Tree [A Story of Perseverance] - I am growing an avocado tree from a seed and although that seems like something that can't possibly relate to public relations, the experience has taught me a ton of PR lessons! I've talked about how managing a campaign can be similar to gardening, but the avocado in particular has been a tricky plant to grow. After several unsuccessful attempts, finally sprouting a strong tree has caused me to reflect. Click through for 4 PR lessons from growing an avocado tree.
