THREE GIRLS GOSSIP

What do you have planned for Valentine's Day? Here's what the Three Girls team will be up to next week:

Erika: "Dennis and I like to enjoy Valentine's Day at home by making a gourmet dinner together and eating by candlelight. This year we're going with a British theme, with Beef Wellington and Yorkshire Pudding on the menu. Our gift to each other this year is our brand new house! We've started moving some things over from our rental and we'll be in the new house completely by the weekend of February 21st."

Emily: "My husband and I aren't really that into Valentine's Day, so this year we're babysitting our friends' kids so they can enjoy a night out. I'm sure the evening will include pizza, games and some sort of Disney movie."

Natalie: "This year I'm going to Ellensburg to have a 'Galentines' weekend with my besties. I'm not sure what's in store for the four of us, but so far we've talked about dinner at a hibachi grill/sushi place and then going out dancing at a local club."

Beth: "My husband and I are going to be celebrating our first Valentine's Day this year as a married couple! We are going to taste-test our first batch of home-brewed wine and enjoy some time at home. We'll probably cook something fun and time-intensive - maybe a make-your-own pizza night! One of my favorite Valentine's Day memories is a few years ago, when we pitched our tent inside our house and pretended to go camping because it was snowing outside!"

The patio area was the ideal spot...It's such a stunning place to sit and relax. At night, the fireplace is roaring, creating a romantic ambiance for those who want to enjoy a drink outside and get cozy." Read the full review here

3 PR lessons from 'Super Smash Bros' - Video games aren't just a way for kids to pass the time. Playing video games can bring friends together to share in some childhood nostalgia. I recently played some old N64 video games including 'Super Smash Bros' which got me thinking about some lessons from the game that could be applied to the world of public relations. Here are 3 PR lessons from Super Smash Bros.

Social Media Crimes: Parts 1 & 2 - Are you public enemy #1 for breaking social media rules? Defying the established guidelines set on Twitter, LinkedIn and the other platforms can alienate readers and deter your audience from following and subscribing to your brand. Check out this 2-part series (part 1 here, part 2 here) for social media crimes to avoid.

5 Public Relations Lessons From Buying a Car - A couple of weeks ago my husband and I bought a car! It had been a while since I bought new wheels, but as we went through the various steps, I realized a solid vehicle purchase had a lot in common with a successful public relations campaign. Here are 5 lessons I came up with.
