Hi Friends & Colleagues,

Happy Friday! Can you believe it's August already? I'm excited to introduce two brand new Publicity Assistants on the Three Girls team. Keep reading to meet them! Today's e-newsletter also shares the scoop on a few of our newest clients, a recent article I was featured in and, of course, helpful social media tips & tricks you won't want to miss out on.

THREE GIRLS GOSSIP

What's our team been up to lately? Here are a few recent highlights:

Erika and Dennis recently met up with Three Girls' Senior Director of Publicity, Emily Sidley, and her daughter for a trip to the Northwest Mushroom Festival! After tasting the portabella slider, mushroom ice cream, mushroom crustini, ravioli, pizza and some type of pastry, they declared the bacon-wrapped mushroom the clear favorite. In addition to mushroom vendors (including a bag to plant them at home and information about the local mushroom club), there was an eclectic mix of unrelated booths and areas, including a pirate-themed ship complete with animals, a fish-themed band rocking out and a booth selling bathtubs run by a woman who called herself, "Mama Jama."

But that's not all! The next day, Dennis and Erika made their way to the 10th Anniversary Olympia Hempfest, held at Heritage Park on the bank of Capitol Lake. There were about 20 different booths with various hemp and cannabis products and paraphernalia, as well as several with all kinds of different information about hemp and cannabis including the laws, medical recommendations and info for patients who want to grow their own medicine. There were also several food booths and a main stage with live music. There was a great crowd and a lot of people came out with their dogs so that was fun to see dozens of pooches in the crowd. The Heritage fountain was an awesome sight with water jets shooting up at random intervals. Despite the cool weather, there were several kids who were enjoying the spray.

Also, one of Three Girls' newest team members, Malia Ramos, attended the 2nd Annual Moveable Feast at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma, which included about 35 different food truck vendors from around the area. The food was delicious! She had Lumpia, Jerk Chicken and Gumbo all in one sitting. Yum!!

THE SCOOP ON STEFANIE

As Stefanie Burger, one of Three Girls' Publicists, recently returned from 6-weeks in Europe, we wanted to make sure we shared a few of her highlights! Here's what she has to say about it:

Throughout my trip I was able to visit incredible sights and meet amazing people. I spent the majority of my time abroad living in an ancient roman village called Cagli (Pronounced Cai Yee). This village is in the Le Marche region and in the Province of Pessaro Urbino (PU) in Italy 2 hours east of Florence (Tuscany) and 1 hour west of the Adriatic Sea. This village is rich in culture and history and is one of the hidden gems of Italy that is nestled upon the ancient Roman trade road known as the Via Flaminia. I was blessed to live in a beautiful apartment with a roommate that I swear was my sister in another life. Together with the 14 other students and faculty we discovered so much about the cultures of others in addition to ourselves! We each drafted profiles about locals and had a deeply personal experience while doing so. You can even see this fun video we put together for the closing event to the song, "Mambo Italiano."

I had a life changing time in Italy and was heartbroken when it was time to leave. I made friends for life and had experiences that one only dreams of. I swam in the Adriatic Sea, learned how to cook authentic Italian food by the hands of a true Italian, was treated like a local and have a second home for life. I learned so much and will carry the experience with me everywhere I go - literally, I got a tattoo with part of the city and a phrase that says, "E sempre una avventura" or "Every step is an adventure."

I also had the pleasure of traveling around Italy to Fano, Urbino, Gubio, Smirra, Furlo and Florence before traveling to Germany, France and eventually London where I saw all the sites. I visited the London Eye, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Picadilly Circus and even saw a musical in the West End. My time in Europe was brief but it was exciting and life changing all the same. It has sparked a true love for Italy and a desire to see more of the world with my family and friends. Till next time... Ciao and Ce' Vedeamo!

TIPS & TRICKS

Mobile Marketing for Businesses: Tips from an iPhone Addict: Mobile marketing goes deeper than a business telling customers to "like us on Facebook" or "follow us on Twitter." As a consumer, if a site does not have responsive web design that's easy to navigate on my iPhone, I'm going to pass it up. If a restaurant's hours don't show up immediately with a quick Google search, I'll move onto the next. Basically, if a company disregards the fact that almost every person owns a smartphone and relies on it like another body part, they are shooting themselves in the foot. This is why one of the main promotional strategies for a business should be mobile marketing. Read more on our blog

Business: What You Need to Know About Rich Pins: Pinterest is continuously expanding their functions for business, including creating business accounts and helping business get more use out of the fastest-growing social media platform. Rich Pins lets brands include details such as pricing, ingredient lists for recipes, movie ratings, product availability and where to buy pinned items. Find out more in this blog post

LinkedIn Groups: Platform Series Part Two: Like any new kid would feel in an unknown place, joining a group can be a bit intimidating at first. What are you going to say? Should you reply to someone else's post? Should you offer some controversial banter? Stop right there and refocus your intent on joining a group. The number one question you should ask yourself is, "How will this promote my business?" Here are some suggestions to get you going on the most essential B2B marketing platform.
