Did you hear Erika on The Dash radio? Listen here for her latest advice about social media best practices for business owners & entrepreneurs including what and how often to post on each platform in addition to specific advice for using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Pinterest and YouTube to engage and interact with fans.
What did you do for the 4th of July? Here's how the Three Girls team celebrated:
Erika caught her first fish in Washington! She and Dennis went kayaking at Ward Lake and she caught a small 6-inch trout. They also saw a large eagle dive bombing a mother duck and her 6 tiny ducklings that looked like they were only a week or two old (they were still very fuzzy and very small). Fortunately the mama duck was able to protect her brood, but it was like something right out of a National Geographic documentary!

Emily enjoyed a delicious BBQ out on Black Lake with her daughter, husband and various other friends and their families. In addition to the gorgeous view and fun fireworks show from the neighbors, they were able to rock out to the live band on the opposite side of the lake!
Paige put on a fireworks show for a block party then went and visited her brother and his wife in Yakima. On Saturday they went to a local cherry orchard and picked 17 lbs. of Bing and Rainier cherries! After that they stopped by some fruit and veggie stands and picked up delicious fresh produce, followed by going home and making the most delicious cherry cobbler she's ever had. Then, when she got home on Sunday night, she decided it was time for a change and dyed her hair red (how patriotic)!
Kyle's volunteer group took a trip to the abandoned WWII gun batteries at Fort Barry in California and had a picnic in the ruins. He felt just like Indiana Jones exploring overgrown concrete structures - good thing he didn't run into any snakes!

Facebook Fans: Why Don't They Like Me? Your company is brilliant, but do your Facebook fans know that? You've developed great content and quirky posts that you believe will get likes from around the universe; yet when you post this awesome content, there are no likes to be found. What's wrong? Probably more than you think. Read this post for 5 mistakes you might be making when it comes to lassoing Facebook likes.
Social Media: What You Need to Know About Google+: Google+ has given itself yet another makeover. The latest changes show that Google+ is still trying to join social media royalty status alongside Facebook & Twitter. Despite Google's efforts and over 390 million active Google+ users, the social media platform hasn't gained quite the momentum it had hoped. However, that doesn't mean you should count Google+ out of the social media game. The company announced 41 new features in May at the Google developer conference, which are expected to roll out gradually. Find out what you need to know about them in this blog post.
Strategic Marketing and Rowing: 4 Similarities: The other day I started rowing again for the first time in a year and a half. As I lay in bed, feeling my sore muscles, I started thinking about the similarities between a solid crew and strategic marketing. This isn't the first time I've drawn similarities between the sport and publicizing your business, but I thought there was new insight to draw. Read this post for a few ways that rowing is like strategic marketing.
