THREE GIRLS GOSSIP

Happy birthday Three Girls Media! It's hard to believe 8 years have already passed since Three Girls opened its doors on June 1, 2008. A big THANK YOU to everyone we've worked with - we couldn't do what we do without you!

Congratulations to Three Girls Publicist Daffne Gavidia! Last weekend she officially became a San Jose State Alumna with a B.S. in Public Relations. Good job, Daffne - we're proud of you!

What else was Three Girls up to over Memorial Day weekend? Here are a few highlights from a few team members:

Dennis & Erika took a trip to the Nisqually Reach Nature Center & Estuary where they scoured the tidal mudflats and saw lots of crabs of all sizes, starfish & a sea cucumber. Erika also got her fishing license and is looking forward to casting a line for trout sometime soon.

Emily (along with her husband and daughter) headed to Portland to visit her sister-in-law and nephew. They had a great time exploring Powell's books, sampling delicious donuts from Blue Star Donuts (the three flavors they tried are pictured to the right) and devouring tasty waffles from the Waffle Window

Paige and her two best friends decided to drive

3.5 hours to Long Beach, WA last minute (as in at midnight). They arrived at a church-turned-Bed & Breakfast at 4am and the owners were amazing. When they got to their room and turned on the light, there was a woman sleeping with her baby! She thought no one was going to be using the room - it was a bit confusing! Everything got straightened out though and they spent all day Saturday in the awesome town of Long Beach as well as at the beach itself. Paige says she spent way too much money at the arcade and had the best clam chowder she's ever had at Castaways. The weather was great (surprisingly) and they had an awesome time.

HOT HEADLINES

Did you see our clients in the news? Here are two recent media placements we secured on behalf of Granite Financial and San Jose Hardwood Floors:

Yahoo! Homes - Low  mortgage rates may not be here formuch longer: "A large factor in the MBA predicting higher interest rates is that the Federal Reserve will eventually stop purchasing mortgage-backed securities," says Irene Moustakas, a California mortgage broker with Granite Financial. "Considering that interest rates recently increased when the Fed merely suggested that it would stop its program at some point in the coming months, the actual implementation of the program cancellation will definitely result in increased rates on a longer-term scale," she says. The Chicago Tribune - The hottest trends in wood flooring: Water-based finishes are in and oil-based is out. They last longer than their predecessors, installers said. "We call them 200-year floors," said Butch Kirk, owner of San Jose Hardwood Floors in San Jose, Calif. "They'll outlive us." Read more at the Chicago Tribune website.
