Midsummer's Eve Courtyard Picnic
Friday, August 28
6 p.m.
Parish Courtyard

The ministries of Youth and Adult Spiritual Formation (ASF) invite you to St. Paul's fourth annual Midsummer's Eve Courtyard Picnic and Movie Night.

This special intergenerational, parish-wide event has proved quite popular, so please RSVP by voicemail to 801-792-7742 with your head-count before August 26 so we can ensure enough food and drinks for all.

We'll have a courtyard picnic with a simple grilled dinner and beverages, followed by popcorn, treats and an indoor movie geared toward the youth, but fun for all ages. And if you're not up for the movie, let us watch your kids as you join in a relaxed evening of after-dinner fellowship and adult "conversation beyond the pews" over a glass of your favorite beverage.

Food Drive for Crossroads and St. Paul's
Month of July
Parish Hall

So far . . . Let's fill the whole corner!

Food pantries and the Utah Food Bank experience a drop in donations during the summer, a time when children are home from school without access to free school lunches.

Crossroads Urban Center is sponsoring a food-drive competition among local churches during the month July. St. Paul's will participate and share the food we collect between Crossroads and our own Pantry.

Bring your donations to the Parish Hall through the month of July, where we will watch the stack of food grow.

Of particular need:

Canned meats
Peanut butter
Canned soups and chili
Pork and beans
Macaroni and cheese
Juice boxes
Milk (canned, shelf, dry)
Canned vegetables
Cereal
Crackers (pref. Saltines)
Bottled water

Watch for case-lot sales, and thanks for your generous support! Bring your receipts to the office, marking the donated items and including your name, and your in-kind donation will be credited to your giving record.
Share the News!
What's your parish team or ministry doing or planning that might interest others? We have a lot of newcomers just champing at the bit to get involved, but they need to know what the needs and opportunities are.

Crossroads Pick-up

Please bring your gently used clothes and small items to the parish hall donation bins. The Crossroads Thrift Store provides hundreds of items-including clothing and household items-at low- or no-cost.
Summer Office Hours

Susan Furca's last day in the office will be Monday this week; office hours are 9 a.m.-2 p.m. M-Th, but Kurt+ will take appointments up to 5 p.m. on those days. Please be patient with us.

Meals on Wheels
The Meals on Wheels team that's been working out of St. Paul's is looking for a few good people to deliver meals to the homebound in our neighborhood.

If you're interested, contact Susan Furca in the office - sooner rather than later!
Especially needed is someone(s) to fill at least part of the team coordinator role.
A Cup of Fellowship
Our coffee hours are a wonderful opportunity to meet and greet newcomers and get to know other parishioners better. It is hospitality ministry. It needn't be elaborate, and you can turn in your receipts either for reimbursement (up to $50) or in-kind giving credit that will be included on your quarterly statements. Also, Sondra White and D.A. Hitner keep the paper goods and staples (coffee, tea, Half & Half) stocked and are more than happy to orient you or to pair you up with an old hand if you're reluctant to do it alone. So why not give it a whirl!
Altar Flower Donations Needed

Altar flowers have been dedicated for only four Sundays between now and Advent.

Altar flowers are a lovely way to honor someone, remember a lost loved one, celebrate a milestone (large or small), give thanks for blessings, and beautify our worship space for a week. Help yourself to one of the pretty little flower donation slips and put it in the offering plate or call or email
admin@stpauls-slc.org

The suggested donation is $50, half the cost.

A Few Good Parishioners

St. Paul's Communications Team is looking for a few willing souls to help with parish communications. We work with the website, newsletter, Facebook and Twitter, to name a few. If you have an interest in spreading the word, we can find a place for you on our team. And we provide training! For more information, please contact Rev. Kurt at rector@stpauls-slc.org
