July 19-20
May the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace

With sadness we share that Mike Lambourne left this world on July 10.

A celebration of his life will be held at the Larkin Mortuary in Riverton, 3688 W. 12600 South, on Saturday July 26 at 3 p.m. His obituary can be viewed on the Larkin website.

Search DVD to be Shown

July 26 & 27

Following all weekend services

The search committee has completed the parish DVD and soon should have the profile posted on the St. Paul's website, and the portfolio posted on the Office of Transition Ministries' website in New York City.

There will be a showing of the St. Paul's DVD after each weekend service July 26-27. A search committee member will be present at each service to answer questions.

Here is spiritual refreshment for midsummer lives!

Sunday Adult Forum Continues

Sunday, July 20

9:15 a.m.

Room 204

This Sunday July 20, we'll continue the acclaimed DVD-based series "Through the Narrow Gate: The Mystics" Part 3: "Intuitive Understanding of the Mystical Path: The Third Passage Through the Gate". What is this narrow gate, and who can enter it? What is "the third passage"? Come learn with us as James Finley, Ph.D., Trappist monk and student of the renown spiritual director, Thomas Merton, leads us in understanding.

Next Sunday July 27, we'll pause from "The Mystics" series, and welcome Paul Vogel as our guest presenter during his visit to Salt Lake. He will tell us about his spiritual journey, leading into a life of Christian action committed to peace and justice. Plan to come to the forum in Room #204.

Midsummer's Picnic Coming Up

Saturday, August 23

Mark your calendars and plan to attend the special parish wide event on August 23; "A Midsummer's Eve Courtyard Picnic and Film Night" will be co-hosted by ASF and the Youth ministry for one and all. (Please RSVP though the parish office, so we'll have a headcount for enough food and beverages.)

Diocesan Convention Approaching

Please note that the deadline for resolutions to be filed is July 28 (90 days prior to the opening of Convention). This earlier deadline allows for review by the Constitution and Canons Committee and the Resolutions Committee before they are posted for discussion at the Pre-Convention meeting on September 27.

The Rules of Convention do not allow for nominations from the floor. The nomination form is on the website, and can be filled out and submitted online.
