Update from the CRC
You will soon be on the road to Syracuse; our regional convention, "Into the Spotlight", is less than 2 weeks to away.
Are all your plans made? Exactly where are you going? Who is driving with you? What time will you leave? When will you get there? What hotel was your quartet or chorus assigned to? Well, after all that, have you thought about what you are packing, checking into your hotel, meeting up with friends from near and far, attending the music education class, participating in the quartet walk through, shopping at the boutique, participating in the mass sing, rehearsing with your quartet or chorus, shopping in the Syracuse area and attending what might be your first competition event?
If it is your first time on the Region 16 stage, savor the moment; those minutes will fly by and you will hear yourself saying, "Can we do that again?' Our response will be, "Yes, of course, next year will be here before you know it".
Please rest assured that whatever your plans are for that weekend, by the time you arrive, your convention team has been working to answer your questions before they ever need to be asked, so that you are in a position to enjoy the entire weekend as you step "Into the Spotlight!"
Oh .... One more reminder ... I've heard it's been done before, above all, don't forget your costumes!
If our handbooks & E-Blasts haven't answered all of your questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact any of the Region 16 Convention Team members listed.

MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION
The below message is from International headquarters:
It's time for "Lights, Camera, Action!" and "Roll the cameras!" because we have a phenomenal opportunity for your region! We would love for each region to be represented in a SWEET ADELINES INTERNATIONAL video we are creating. The video will premiere during this year's Opening Session at International Convention, Oct. 18, in Las Vegas, Nev. Imagine how exciting it will be to see your region on the MGM jumbotron while thousands are watching! We know regional contest is a very busy weekend, but here's what we would like for you to do. We are requesting each region make their video at regional contest this year. We are continuing the "I am Sweet Adelines" campaign that began last year at convention. In your video, please say, "We are Region 16, and We are Sweet Adelines."
Region 16 will be represented at the 2016 International Convention in Las Vegas. Our very own Region 16 photographer, Genine Gehret, will video record the 20 - 30 seconds at Friday's Mass Sing. That segment will be sent to headquarters to be added to the Sweet Adeline International video. Be there and represent not only Region 16, but also your chorus. The more the merrier! Let's show the world what Region 16 is all about.

A gentle reminder to those who brings snacks to munch on at the competition, in between the competitors. I have been notified that there are several members with severe allergies to peanuts ... not only to the peanut itself, but also being in close proximity to them. These women are also competitors, so I ask you to be mindful of that and refrain from bringing any peanut substance to the theater.
Coach Passes:
If you have not yet requested a backstage access pass for your chorus or quartet coach, please be sure to send an email to me, Sandy Blamowski at: Sendula@aol.com and Shelley Snoulten, CC at shelleysnoulten@gmail.com . One (1) coach will be allowed to travel to the theatre with you on the competitor bus and go through the backstage pattern, choosing to either watch from stage left or the audience.

Check-in time at all Convention hotels is 3:00 p.m. (every day). Should you arrive early and before your room is ready, designated secure areas for luggage are available until 7:00 p.m. at each hotel. Due to the size of our group, the Front Desks do not have the capacity to handle individual chorus member check-in. In order to expedite check-in, the following procedure has been established with each hotel.
Wednesday Check-in
Members arriving on Wednesday are able to check-in individually. Their Registration (AEB)
badges and programs will have to be picked up from the Chorus CCL when she arrives at
the hotel on Thursday.
Thursday Check-in 1. The Chorus Convention Liaison (CCL) is responsible for being available at all times during the check-in process. 2. Upon arrival at the hotel, the CCL is to check-in at the Front Desk and pick up room keys for the entire chorus. Her check-in package will include the keys, Registration (AEB) badges and Convention programs. There will be a message board near the Front Desk in each hotel. Please write your name and room number on the message board so that members will know how to reach you to collect their keys, etc. Because access to rooms at the Sheraton is unauthorized without a room key, tables will be set up in the lobby area of that hotel only for the CCL to distribute keys to chorus members. 3. As the CCL is encouraged to attend the Briefing on Thursday evening (7:45 pm at the Crowne Plaza Hotel), keys not yet picked up by chorus members should be returned to the Front Desk no earlier than 7 p.m. for individual pick-up. Note that programs and AEB badges are NOT to be left at the Front Desk. Members must obtain them later from the CCL. Immediately after the Briefing, the CCL must return to the Front Desk to take back keys not yet picked up by members.
