HOLIDAY SCHEDULE | |
While City of Sarasota administrative offices were closed on Christmas Day, some staff members were on duty, including employees at our historical Bobby Jones Golf Club, where the 7th annual "Reindeer Games" was played on the British Course. Our dedicated men and women in blue at the SPD were on duty patrolling the neighborhoods and helping those who needed assistance on Christmas Day. And, employees in the Utilities Department were on hand to monitor water and wastewater pressure. We appreciate each and every employee who is working in the essential services field this holiday season to ensure our community is safe and operating well.
Hours of operation at some facilities will vary again this week as we approach New Year's Day. Please check below for the holiday schedule.

In this week's 'Sarasota Scene', our contributing photographer Norm Schimmel captured an amazing holiday performance of the Sarasota Sailor Circus, one of our treasured student performing arts programs in the community. Their final Holiday Spectacular show, featuring over 100 talented students, is tonight (Tues., Dec. 30) at 7 p.m.
I believe it is safe to say that 2014 was a very good year to live, work or visit our special community. Thanks to each and everyone who in their own unique way keeps Sarasota glowing and growing. Best wishes to everyone for a great 2015, and we at City Hall look most forward to working with you to keep the positive momentum, community building and improvements going. Happy New Year!
