Fall Fundraising Campaign for 2014
Campaign donations make possible services vital to our community, including:
  • The purchase of a new Ambulance every three years for the Eastchester Volunteer Ambulance Corp, our community's primary ambulance provider.
  • Programs for seniors offered by the Senior Citizens Council, Gramatan Village and Eastchester Seniors Programs and Services, to help keep local seniors active, engaged and able to remain in their home by providing transportation, home help, referral services and weekly recreational programs and activities.
  • Assisting cancer patients with nursing, counseling, education, case management from the Cancer Support Team as well as psychological and advocacy support provided by The Cancer Survivorship Program.

The fall campaign is The Community Funds main funding source and determines how much support can be provided.  Join us in helping make a difference in our community.  Please give to this year's Community Fund Campaign.  You can donate online through our website at

Free Community Flu Shots
The Community Flu Shot Program, which provides the community with free flu shots, is under way.  The program kicked off on October 30th at Lake Isle and November 4th at the Tuckahoe Senior Center.  Shots will be administered at the Reformed Church on November 14th.  This program receives 100% of their funding from The Community Fund.

Program Evaluators Needed
The Community Fund performs due diligence on all agencies that apply for funding.  This includes reviewing the financial condition of the agency and on site null interviews of the management of the agencies.  This helps to ensure our funding is being utilized to obtain maximum performance and efficiency.  The Community Fund needs evaluators to perform due diligence.

Last Thoughts
The Community Fund is an organization of neighbors helping neighbors. Our volunteer board and small dedicated staff serve as your representatives to identify under-met needs in our community, evaluate the financial and organizational strength of the agencies that rely on our support, and assess the value of the services they provide.  You can feel confident that your Community Fund dollars are allocated wisely.
