Earthworks Holiday Showcase & Sale Featuring Early Program Teacher Stephanie Messing
December 3-24 & December 26-31
Local, hand-crafted pottery will be available for purchase at the Earthworks NYC annual holiday showcase and sale. Works by Early Program teacher Stephanie Messing are part of the showcase this year, so we encourage friends and family to drop by and show their support. Please join us in congratulating our resident potter! More information about the event can be found here.

Registration Open for After School & Music 
Registration for the After School and Music School is now open on My Backpack. The Winter brochure can be accessed here. Brand new classes include Sword Class NYC, Saori Weaving, and Broadway Bound. The Music School also offers private lessons for children and adults in cello, guitar, flute, piano, rock guitar, rock drums, violin, voice, Suzuki piano, and trumpet. Music classes for EP children are offered by our very own Funikijam team. Music school lessons are also offered on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Casting Call: Master Chef Junior
Master ChefJunior, with FOX, consists of a cooking competition for children ages 8-13, to earn the title MasterChef Junior! Casting will take place on December 12, 2015. If your child loves the kitchen, please see more information here and here.

Flu Vaccinations Mandatory For Kindergarten and Below
As of January 1, 2016, all children Kindergarten and below must receive a Flu vaccine. The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene has mandated the Flu Vaccine to the New York State Immunization Requirements for School Entrance and Attendance. Proof of vaccination must be provided to the Health Office in order for a student to return to school after winter break.  

The Caedmon School Book Fair Presents an Evening With Jacqueline Woodson
Thursday, December 10 | 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Please join us on the evening of December 10 for a discussion with critically acclaimed author, Jacqueline Woodson. Jacqueline Woodson won the 2014 National Book Award for her New York Times bestselling memoir  Brown Girl Dreaming. She gives stirring lectures that delve into the inspiration behind her books and explore important issues of race, gender, and bullying. 

Annual Christmas Bazaar at St. Monica's Church Auditorium
Sunday, November 22 | 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 
All Caedmon families are invited to the annual Christmas Bazaar at St. Monica's Church. There will be an assortment of raffle prizes (electronics, dinners, theater tickets, and more), a variety of craft vendors, music, entertainment, and fun. 

Recognizing Men's Health for Movember
Lower Level teacher Mr. Schlessinger would like to remind the male constituents of Caedmon to do something positive for their health in honor of Movember, a movement each November to raise awareness for men's health. As a sign of solidarity and to make a more visible statement, as part of this movement, men forego shaving for the month of November. Be on the lookout for our unshaven staff and feel free to join in the movement yourself!

Financial Aid Applications Now Open

Financial aid is an option available to families at any grade level. Caedmon Maker Space
Caedmon Maker Space is a creativity lab open for its residents every Saturday for 2.5 hours, starting at 10:00 a.m. Saturday sessions welcome inventors 6-13 years-old. CFA Book Fair
Thursday, December 10 through Saturday, December 12
The Caedmon Book Fair will soon be upon us! With a slew of events leading up to the big event on December 11 and 12, children will be treated to author visits and readings, and will have plenty of time in their classrooms to craft a wish list of titles to take home.

CFA General Meeting
December 15th | 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
All parents are invited to join us for the CFA General Meeting. The evening will begin with a technology talk from Kindergarten parent, Sean Dagony-Clark. Sean is the Director of Academic Technology at Riverdale Country School. He will speak to us about children and technology: empowering students to use technology well, digital citizenship, and tips how to protect kids at home.

We will then move on to other CFA events, including the Spring Benefit, the biggest fundraiser of the year. It takes a village to run the Spring Benefit and we need your help. Please come and see how you can lend a hand.

Wine and a light dinner will be served.
