Dichos y Dichos
Welcome
Greetings!

Well, Readers, we've now gone through nine Scrolls or Rules that I've shared with you over the past three months, which are:

1. Today I begin a new life.

2. I will greet this day with love in my heart.

3. I will persist until I succeed.

4. I am nature's greatest miracle.

5. I will live this day as if it is my last.

6. Today I will be master of my emotions.

7. I will laugh at the world.

8. Today I will multiply my value a hundredfold.

9. I will act now.

Finally we come to the last of the Scrolls, and this last Scroll does not state a rule per se, but rather it shares with you that in your daily life, you pray for guidance,

and that you be shown the way so that you may be able to acquire that which many seek which include the delivery of wealth, love, good health, fame, success and happiness.  This guidance may come or not come, but both are the answer to what you must do...you have the Scrolls to guide you now.  Use them and make them part of your daily life and success will be in your future.

Gracias,

Weekly "Dicho con Café"

"Cada uno extiende la pierna hasta donde llega la sábana."

The author's translation is:
"We stretch our legs only as far as the sheet reaches."

What this dicho is making reference to is "Do not live beyond your means." In other words, don't spend what you don't have.......do not get in debt and then suffer the sleepless nights of how that debt is going to be paid off.  Learn to save and then make your purchases so that you don't have a list of creditors calling you each day wanting their payment and, even worse, threatening court action which will make your debt even that much bigger.  Learn to save a little at a time, such as $1 per day, and when you are comfortable with the savings and it has become a habit, increase it to another level - let's say $2 per day - and keep it there until this also becomes a daily habit; a very good habit.  Keep increasing that amount so long as you can afford it and are comfortable in setting this amount aside.  Think about it: Only $1 per day is $365 per year and $2 per day is $730.  This is now becoming some serious money!  Too many live from paycheck to paycheck and haven't enjoyed a life of being debt-free.  Work toward that goal by living within your means and I assure you that your life will be a much more pleasant one.  As grains of sand can make a beach and drops of water can make an ocean, so will your savings form the foundation of your wealth that will come to you in time.

More About John A. Flores

What Mr. Flores has learned and now practices in his daily life is not something that occurred between the dusk of today and the dawn of tomorrow.  It took many months and years to obtain what is now a habit with him when it comes to saving money and making sound investments that bring a good return and enable him and his wife to live debt-free.  Over time, he read many books and learned about different traits that were important in molding his life and he is now sharing some of what he has learned to each of you with the hope that you will be able to benefit from his experience.  Of course, having a wife that shops for "specials" and also looks for ways to save money is also important if you are to live debt-free.  For instance, she just saved them over $700 on insurance for their three cars by shopping around!  That's $700 that can be used for something else!  His book shelves are lined with books written by great authors that deal with many of the principles that he now practices.  As mentioned in another newsletter, Mr. Flores reads at least 4-6 books each month covering different topics. - some for pleasure and some for additional information he can use in his lectures, investments and motivation.  His thirst for books began at an early age when he first read a book about a knight named Roland in medieval times.  Whether it was the chivalry of the period or the valor of the knight or just being lost in a world of imagination for a hour or so, he doesn't remember, but from there he went on to read all of the books by Zane Grey, a western writer, and many others that he would get from the local library, where he was a familiar sight.  There is an old saying that states, "When the mountain didn't come to Mohammed, Mohammed went to the mountain," and this is what Mr. Flores did - he went to the "mountain of knowledge" and has never regretted his decision.  He also learned early in life that you cannot do it alone...you need that knowledge that can be gained from books, but more importantly, you need the knowledge from those that have succeeded.
