Dichos y Dichos
Welcome
Greetings!

Today's scroll (or rule) is: "Today, I will multiply my value a hundredfold."  If there is one rule that is at or near the front of my mind, it is this one, for this is the rule that helps me create wealth and to open my eyes to the opportunities that many people are blind to because they are not looking, but merely wishing or hoping, to somehow improve their lot in life.  This kind of attitude determines whether you want to "fish or cut bait!" Either you do something, or spend your time wishing and thinking about the "big one that got away!"  What I've done is train myself over a period of time by using many of the disciplines I've shared with you and to also look at things through a different "colored glass," and the color I chose was green!  Green is the color associated with wealth! I trained myself not only to save money, to later invest and result in a very quick and healthy return, but also to take advantage of those opportunities that would allow me to make a sound and financially worthwhile investment for future years.  Whether you are buying something and then selling it for a profit at a later date, or simply purchasing something at a discount because you have the money to pay cash, each purchase can make or save you money.  Always remember that working for money is not the answer - it's saving that earned money and then allowing that saved money to work for you!  I use the "Multiple Streams of Income"

approach that I will discuss at a later date and will share how this approach works for me, as opportunities don't present themselves every day, but when they do, I am prepared.  You need to look for opportunities everywhere you go and begin looking at things from a different "colored glass!"  I hope your color is also GREEN!

Weekly "Dicho con Caf"

"Todo es segn el color del cristal por donde se mira."

The author's translation is:
"Everything is colored by the glass you see through."

What this means is that it is up to you as to how you want to look at things, and, as indicated in the dicho, in the color that you want your glass to be in order to see things.  Is it redwhich can mean anger?  Is it blue, which can mean being moody?  Will it be yellowwhich is associated with something sunny and bright, or is it purplewhich gives the sense of something royal?  Transfer the colors to your attitude and it will affect how you see things.  Do you want to dwell over things that you can't change, or look through a rose colored glass that will make what you see appear more positive?  Pick those traits or attitudes that will help you look more positively at things, knowing that with time, whatever the problem, this too shall pass!

More About John A. Flores

Many years ago, as a migrant worker working alongside his parents and sister, Mr. Flores knew that he didn't want his life to be one that would be spent toiling in the agricultural fields of California and other states, exposing himself year-after-year to the harsh rays of the hot summer sun picking vegetables and fruit, or the biting cold of the winter months when pruning vines and trees.  He realized this would be his station in life if he remained a migrant worker, headed down the path to a life of hardship that accompanies those who follow the crops.  He also knew that for him to achieve the career and income goals he had set for his life which were to be part of his "American Dream," he had to pursue a different path toward earning income.  He still remembers the day he was chopping cotton, gazing at the heat waves that were crossing the cotton fields, recalling what he had read the day before, which was how the President of the United States earned a salary of $125,000 per year! At that time, Mr. Flores was earning 75 cents an hour, which added up to 30 dollars in a 40-hour week!  Even if he worked all 52 weeks of the year, the most he would make that year would be $1,560!  At that rate, he would have to work 80 years, saving every penny earned, to equal what the President himself earned in one year!  As he maneuvered his hoe, thinning the cotton for better yields, he thought to himself, "What are the odds of me becoming President of the United States and making that kind of money?"  The answer came quickly:  "Nil...and none!" With this realization, his plan began to evolve in his mind with all that he needed to do in order to accomplish this.  Even after graduating from Fresno State, with a position as a laboratory technician with local hospitals, he began a janitorial business working nights in addition to his day job.  This is where he began his trek of "thinking big" about what he wanted out of life and began reading books and seeking advice from others who had "made it," embarking on a journey of learning all that he now shares with all of you.  He will discuss more on this topic later.
