Greetings!
Once again, as we continue on with the discussion on the ten scrolls that are highlighted from from Og Mandino's book, The Greatest Salesman In The World, today's law is from the sixth scroll which states: "Today I will be master of my emotions." Every morning, we awaken with moods that change from day to day, as yesterday's joy can become today's sadness, or today's sadness will turn into tomorrow's joy. Inside of you is a wheel that is constantly turning from sadness to joy, from exultation to depression, and from happiness to melancholy. If I can compare this to a flower, today it is a full bloom of joy that will fade and wither into despondency; however, you must remember that today's dead flower carries the seed of tomorrow's bloom. In the same way, today's sadness carries the seed of tomorrow's joy. If you bring rain, gloom, darkness and pessimism to those around you and yourself, then you have created a negative day where no one benefits; however, if you bring joy, enthusiasm, brightness and laughter to yourself and those around you, they will react with joy, enthusiasm and laughter, making the day a much more enjoyable one. If you feel depressed, sing! If you feel sad, laugh! If you feel fear, plunge ahead! If you feel inferior, wear new clothes! If you feel poverty, think of the wealth that is to come! If you feel incompetent, remember past successes! If you feel insignificant, remember your GOALS! Master your emotions and do not relinquish control because, by mastering your emotions, you will understand others and become successful by understanding them.
Gracias,
John A. Flores, MBA - Author

Weekly "Dicho con Café"
"Tanto peca el que mata como el que detiene la pata."
The author's translation is that "Just as guilty is the one that kills the cow as the one that holds its legs."
This dicho is somewhat akin to an earlier dicho which discussed being known by the company you keep. It's a dicho that is used to provide advice to others about who they might be associating with or some type of mischief. While they may not be the person that "pulls the trigger" or did the act itself, they are just as guilty by being around those who committed the actual act! It's a reminder to all, especially the youth of today, that hanging around with those that tag graffiti, take part in hazing or bullying, or some other type of mischief will be judged just as guilty for being there! It's advice that parents should share daily with their children, as well as teachers with their students, since the temptation and pressure by some of the their peers might overcome their initial resistance.

More About John A. Flores
As mentioned before, through his courses taught at California State University, Fresno, and his experience in the world of entrepreneurship, Mr. Flores was invited to Poland and Belarus where he taught a class on entrepreneurship to young university students that were interested in starting their own business, this after a lifetime of living under the thumb of dictators who discouraged free-thinking and any thought of entrepreneurship. In Belarus, what made the experience noteworthy was that the housing was very primitive along with the facilities at the university itself, such as their bathrooms and kitchens, even though the university was large and thousands of students were enrolled. One thing of note was the cafeteria menu, where the meals being served consisted of potato soup, potato salad, potato pancakes and very little else. Mr. Flores and two other professors also visited a pizzeria that advertised all different types of pizzas. The three of them decided to each get a different small pizza and then share among themselves the different types of pizzas. One ordered a salami pizza, another one ordered an Italian sausage pizza, and the third ordered a combination pizza. All three received a "chicken" pizza!!! Yes, it was quite an experience dining out in Minsk, Belarus!!!
When he's not writing books, Mr. Flores makes presentations to local, regional and national groups, using dichos to motivate his audiences. You can contact him for speaking engagements at (559) 456-0128 or at his personal email at jaflores1246@comcast.net
