Weekly "Dicho con Café"
"Preguntando se llega a Roma."
The author's translation is that "Asking you will get to Rome."
What this means is that you need to ask those around you for direction or advice so that you can reach your goals that much quicker and with the least amount of detours. Too often, people don't want to ask because they think that people will think less of them, but the truth of the matter is that those who ask will get there much faster. Unless you've traveled the route and know it by heart, it's best to get a map, ask directions, and have a firm plan on how you are going to get to wherever you are going. What is important is to know where you are going; otherwise, how will you know when you get there? Think about it! |

More About John A. Flores
One of the unique and picturesque cities that was visited by Mr. Flores and his wife was the city of Ushuaia, Argentina. It is the capital of the Provincia de Tierra del Fuego or "Land of Fire." Ushuaia is considered to by the southernmost city in the world, and is a beautiful city nestled in a cove along the southern Atlantic Ocean. It is surrounded to the north by the Martial Mountains and to the south by the Beagle Channel. It is a small city of approximately 60,000 people, whose main industries consist of fishing, natural gas, oil extraction, sheep ranching, and ecotourism. One of its most infamous sites was the its prison, which has since closed after a century of use, and at one time housed some of Argentina's most dangerous criminals. Some of its most famous criminals had their pictures lining the walls of the prison amidst some of the artifacts from that period in time. The region around Ushuaia offers a very peaceful setting, one that would make you think about retiring to such a community if and when one reaches that age. The only challenge with living way down at the southern tip of South America is that there is not much left to do but taking it easy, if that is what you want! Indeed, it is very picturesque and laid back, quiet, and peaceful.
When he's not writing books, Mr. Flores makes presentations to local, regional and national groups, using dichos to motivate his audiences. You can contact him for speaking engagements at (559) 456-0128 or at his personal email at jaflores1246@comcast.net
