Cabela's Outdoor Fund Extends their Support of the
Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation
December 16, 2015 (Washington, DC) - The Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation (CSF), the most respected and trusted sportsmen's organization in the political arena, announced today that it received an extended three-year grant from the Cabela's Outdoor Fund. During the next three years, funds received from the grant will be used to help support CSF's ongoing mission to work with federal and state legislators to protect and advance hunting, angling, recreational shooting, and trapping in the halls of government.

"The Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation has been at the forefront of supporting outdoor enthusiasts and enhancing the outdoor lifestyle for many years. They have had a tremendous impact on the outdoor community, and we believe this grant will boost their efforts," said Scott Wanetka, Vice President of Cabela's Outdoor Fund. "Cabela's Outdoor Fund is proud to support CSF and the great work they do."

At the federal level, CSF staff work closely with Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus (CSC) Members, Committee staffers, and conservation partners on developing and advancing comprehensive sportsmen's packages and other pro-sportsmen's legislation in the House and Senate. CSF staff have testified before House and Senate Committees, and actively serve on several Federal Advisory Committees. Most recently, CSF worked with Members of the CSC to pass the Sportsmen's Act (S. 556) out of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.

At the state level, CSF regional staff work with the National Assembly of Sportsmen's Caucuses (NASC) and the Governors Sportsmen's Caucus (GSC), hosting frequent policy forums and meetings across the country to educate and inform legislators on important policies that affect their regions. Funds from this grant will go directly towards keeping hunters in the field and anglers on the water by ensuring their interests are on the minds of policy-makers.

"We are thankful for the generous support provided by our partner, Cabela's Outdoor Fund," said CSF President Jeff Crane. "The Outdoor Fund has been crucial to the mission of CSF for years, ensuring that we can continue to work with the federal and state sportsmen's caucuses to ensure our hunting and fishing traditions are protected.  As we look forward, there is much more work that needs to be done to continue serving our sportsman's community and with partners like Cabela's, we can continue to have a significant presence in the halls of government."

Cabela's Outdoor Fund is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion, conservation and improvement of wildlife and wildlife habitat, hunting, fishing, camping and other outdoor sporting and recreational activities. Through local and national fund raising efforts, Cabela's Outdoor Fund contributes to other like-minded organizations across North America, like CSF.
