House Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus Leadership Introduces Sportsmen's Package

On May 19, House Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus (CSC) leadership introduced the Sportsmen's Heritage and Recreational Enhancement (SHARE) Act of 2015 (H.R. 2406), aimed "to protect and enhance opportunities for recreational hunting, fishing, and shooting, and for other purposes..."


Knife Owners' Protection Act Clears Major Hurdle in Senate

On May 20, S. 1315, the Knife Owners' Protection Act of 2015 (KOPA), introduced by Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus (CSC) Member Senator Mike Enzi (WY) cleared a major hurdle, passing through the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee with bipartisan support. The legislation was voted out of the Commerce Committee and would ensure that any law-abiding citizen traveling with a secured knife is protected under federal law and is not subject to prosecution under conflicting state and local laws...

Texas Adds Right to Hunt and Fish to Ballot
On May 20, the Texas State House of Representatives passed SJR 22 - a constitutional amendment that would protect hunting and fishing in the Texas Bill of Rights. The amendment, after passing both chambers of the Texas State Legislature, will now be placed on the November 3 ballot to be ratified by the state's voters...
