Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus Leadership Restores Funding from Sportsmen Trust Funds

Last week, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and U.S. Department of Interior agreed to release funding sequestered from the Wildlife Restoration, Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Safety Trust Funds to the states. Money for the Trust Funds is derived from excise taxes levied on motorboat fuel and hunting and fishing equipment and then are distributed back to the states to pay for projects and programs important to outdoor recreation activities...

  

Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation Supports the Wild Game Donation Act

The Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation (CSF) recently showed support for H.R. 3728, the Wild Game Donation Act introduced by Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus (CSC) member Representative Don Young. H.R. 3728 will make hunters who donate meat to food-based charities eligible for a tax credit for the processing cost of their game meat, as well as provide a tax deduction for processors who take part in charitable donation programs and protects against the use of spoiled meats for charitable contributions...

Quality Deer Management Association's Whitetail Summit

From March 3-6, Brent Miller, Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation's (CSF) Northeastern States Director, represented CSF at the Quality Deer Management Association's (QDMA) Whitetail Summit. The Summit, held at Bass Pro Shop's Big Cedar Lodge in Branson, MO, was the first event of its kind, in that it focused exclusively on the future of whitetail management and our hunting heritage... 

 

Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation Staff Attends Vermont Outdoor Show

On Saturday, March 15, CSF's Northeastern States Director, Brent Miller, hosted a booth at the Vermont Outdoor show in Rutland Vermont. CSF attended the event to interact with members of Vermont's sportsmen's community and in-state conservation partners, as well as to promote the 25th Anniversary of CSF, the 10th Anniversary of the National Assembly of Sportsmen's Caucuses, and the 5th Anniversary of the Governors Sportsmen's Caucus...
