     This past July 2016, The City of Ventura granted a 10 year franchise renewal agreement to EJ Harrison & Sons, Inc. for solid waste collection and recycling services.

     The City of Ventura, in partnership with E.J. Harrison & Sons, Inc., and Agromin, has helped the city achieve a sold waste landfill diversion rate of over 70% by developing a variety of recycling programs as well as a cutting edge food waste composting pilot program for businesses. READ MORE.

August  17 - Green Street Event 
 
On Saturday, August 17 on Hartman Drive in mid-town Ventura, City officials, staffers and the public celebrated the installation of Ventura's NEW Green Street.  The Green Street's pervious concrete and bioretention cells help collect, clean and infiltrate stormwater -  reducing the amount of pollution that would otherwise flow to the ocean.
