The Workmans have been active members of NETLA for 10 years. Stacy served as Secretary for 7 years and has judged NETLA Youth Shows, as well as county fairs. She is thankful for the opportunity she had to meet the great people of MTLA and CTTLA while judging their shows, after being approved as a judge in 2009.

Blessings to Randy Witte

Randy Witte_2012

by Darol Dickinson

Randy Witte, who has gathered and edited news for ITLA for years, is going to be out of commission for a while. He has asked me to help with the educational articles and ITLA news in his absence. Although I can't hold a lantern to his writing skills, I am going to try. You can send photos and info to darol@texaslonghorn.com regarding ITLA happenings.

Randy and his wife, Marsha, live on their Red Ink Ranch in Peyton, Colorado. They have raised many Championship Texas Longhorns. They are especially tough at the Denver National Western where Marsha's ancestors (Peavys) dominated early day livestock events over 50 years ago.

Randy was for many years publisher of the Western Horseman Magazine, the largest circulation livestock magazine in history. He has written several books and basically "done it all." Now Randy faces some unknown health challenges and is soon to move to Mayo Clinic for the world's best care. A kind word of prayer for this great Texas Longhorn supporter and his sweet wife is in order. Thank you, Randy, and may the Lord bless you with rapid recovery.

Get the Picture!

By Darol Dickinson

What if the bull Top Caliber was not registered?  What if his parentage and pedigree was incorrect, unknown or undocumented?  He would be an "unregistered-unknown." Obviously, there would be a lot of difference in his value.  That is the main reason for ITLA registrations, to document, preserve and promote the values and historic pedigree records.  A registration certificate verifies value. For just $15 ITLA provides a quality certificate and keeps computer records perpetually. Now that is a buy!!

This is the iRegisterITLA.com on-line certificate with personalized full color photo. This shows the reasons for increased popularity of duplicate certificates.
A few years ago a giant step forward at the ITLA computer level made it possible to add a full color photo on the certificate face.  This highly applauded technical advance brought about an increase in double registrations, as most registries do not have these computer capabilities. Not only does the photo add a touch of authority and class to the certificate, it provides a detailed identity.  When cattle are commingled, with only a few spots difference, the certificate photo is a great help.  Ask any sale manager.

The simple fee of $15 pays for the recording, certificate and the full color photo.  To get the $15 rate cattle must be registered before they are 14 months old.  The photo provided to ITLA must be taken at a juvenile age.  For identification, this is fine, but soon a Texas Longhorn will develop those huge serpentine things on their heads and no longer look like the original baby photos.

The best of both worlds is.....do a duplicate certificate when each animal is mature.  When the adult Texas Longhorn's beauty glows with maturity, get a great new photo and send in $15 to ITLA.  A new certificate will be produced with the new improved photo.  It will look great.

This is a service only offered by ITLA to provide for the total needs of members. Not only that, a totally computer generated certificate can be developed right at home on your own computer with the iRegister process.  It just keeps getting better.

Those who use the iRegister ITLA computer registration program say it is the simplest in the industry -- the quickest application and certificate to complete.

Send in new photos for ITLA duplicate replacement certificates pronto and there will be a lightning swift turn around.  Do it now!!

If you have questions, please call Trish at the ITLA 254-898-0157

Register Them All with ITLA!

There are a lot of good reasons to register all of your cattle with ITLA.  Did you know all that can be done with ITLA registration?

For instance:
**To register a calf up to the age of 15 months, ITLA charges only $15
**ITLA can put a color photo on the registration certificate at no extra cost.
**If an animal is over 24 months ITLA charges only $25 to register.
**Artificial Insemination (AI) enrollments for ITLA is only $100.
**ITLA has an OCV number on every female certificate.  The OCV is a federal number used for international shipments and interstate shipments. Very important.
...and the list goes on...

ITLA ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION ENROLLMENT
When planning to collect semen on your best bull, AI Enroll him with ITLA. The lifetime fee is only $100 and the process is simple. No DNA is required on the sire and dam. Both registries AI Enroll, and both acknowledge the other registry's enrollments. Always save with ITLA's frugal rates.

REGISTER EVERYTHING WITH ITLA
Add value with a full color photo on every ITLA registration certificate. Just $15 for any age under 14 months. Never pay more than $25 to register any age Texas Longhorn with ITLA. Use the online iRegister system (https://www.iregisterITLA.com) - the most member-friendly registration system in the industry.

CTLA President's Report May 2015
Canadian Texas Longhorn Association

First of all I would like to thank out going president Gordon Musgrove for his hard work and dedication laying the foundation of the CTLA over the last two years.  A lot was accomplished in a short period of time and the CTLA is now positioned for growth and great accomplishments.

Our AGM was held on April 18th in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan with members present from Alberta and Saskatchewan.  A new executive was elected (pictured) and the Jack Phillips award was presented to Charlene Musgrove and Tina Stewart for their hard work in keeping our association running smoothly.  Congratulations ladies!

The first leg of our Triple Crown yearling heifer futurity was held following the AGM with 21 heifers competing in two classes.  The next show will be in conjunction with our CTLA national show in Red Deer, Alberta July 16 - 19 with the final show in conjunction with the Horn Showcase in Ponoka, Alberta September 25,26.  Our spring sale was also held in Saskatoon on April 18 with a large crowd and excellent prices.
