The ITLA is saddened to report the passing of longtime Texas Longhorn breeder Joe Assad on Friday, August 22, 2014. Joe was a founding member of the ITLA and held a number of leadership positions through the years.
Joe and his wife Debbie raised Texas Longhorn cattle in Central Texas. Joe attended many events and was very successful on the ITLA Show Circuit, having raised many Champion Longhorn cows and bulls through the years. Many other breeders have had success showing Assad Cattle Co. animals, as well.
Joe made an indelible mark on our breed. More importantly, Joe was a great supporter of everyone he knew. He always had a smile on his face and an encouraging word to say. He was a man of God and will be missed.
The ITLA family would like to extend its condolences to Debbie, his daughters, grandchildren and all of the Assad family.
