Who: Massachusetts Waste Haulers, Municipal Health Departments and Solid Waste Officials!
Why: Under Mass General Law, local Boards of Health have the authority to regulate private haulers operating in their communities. Many have requested a "model" or "template" to assist them with updating existing regulations or adopting new regulations to ensure recycling services for residents, businesses, and institutions. In response, MassDEP contracted with DSM Environmental Services to compile a reference document or template for cities and towns seeking to harmonize local regulatory efforts and expand compliance with the waste disposal bans (310 CMR 19.017).
All are welcome. We look forward to a good discussion!
*Credentialed Education Session: (2 CEUs offered to health officials)
Space is Limited. Please RSVP by September 23rd to:

Buy Better Toss Smarter: A Falmouth Waste Reduction Effort
Buy Better Toss Smarter is an initiative to support Falmouth restaurants in their efforts to adopt better purchasing and recycling practices. The project is being organized by Falmouth architect Jill Neubauer and her intern Environmental Community Outreach Intern, Jillian Macura. This summer they produced a booklet with information and pricing on take-out containers and packaging that are recyclable or compostable. To learn more about this initiative, check out this great article in the Cape Cod Wave. It's not live yet, but a web site is coming soon. So be sure to check back at www.buybettertosssmarter.com for updates.
