The Center for EcoTechnology and Covanta SEMASS have released a digital information booklet on mercury waste diversion. The "Difficult to Manage Items" booklet was created specifically with residents and municipal offices in mind.  It's easy to follow and customizable layout provides a unique and comprehensive tool for all to use. Click here for a PDF version of the document.

In addition to the PDF, there is a text only file so certain parts can be pulled for a town website/newsletter.  Click here for basic technical instructions for posting to a website.

Heather Billings of CET will be following up with SEMASS communities to promote the use and digital posting of the Booklet to town websites. We encourage you to use and promote this booklet. Do note that this was written for Covanta SEMASS long term contracted communities and certain language may be specific to those communities only.

Table-to-Farm Movement Takes off on Cape

Cape Cod Times, Amy Anthony, Nov, 4, 2014 - From on-site composting to on-site technologies, local businesses are figuring out ways to "go green" and - in some cases - comply with the state's new food waste ban.

And the process of hauling the waste has become a business in itself, as companies look for a way to comply with the ban, which prohibits establishments that produce a ton or more of food waste a week from sending any to landfills.
