Hidden Hazards in the Art Studio
Artists of all different types (painters, print-makers, potters, glass blowers, etc.) encounter products in their studios that are potentially hazardous to their health and the environment. And many don't even know it.
For this reason, on June 1st, the Cape Cod Cooperative Extension hosted two workshops called "Hidden Hazards in the Art Studio," with one session in Wellfleet and a second in Chatham. The workshop's featured speaker was David Waddell, the current President of the North American Hazardous Materials Management Association (NAHMMA) and an expert on the hazards found in art studios.

Paint Brochure & Visitor's Recycling Guide
Please help inform residents by posting these two updated documents to your website. I will also send hard copies of both documents to each town to distribute.
1) Paint Reuse & Recycling Flyer - This is an educational flyer with information on paint recycling and reuse options. It describes how to discern hazardous from non-hazardous paint and lists locations where paints can be recycled and reused on Cape Cod. 2) 2013 Visitor's Guide to Recycling - This is an updated version of the visitor's guide to recycling, which includes details on hours of operation, fees, and acceptable material for each transfer station on the Cape.
