I have received another request from one of the nutrition extension educators to see if Master Gardeners would be interested in helping out with a summer program they have run called Kids in the Kitchen. They have run this program for the last three years at three cape child care centers. They would like to incorporate a garden portion.   If anyone is interested in volunteering on this type of project please let me know.

The March hotline schedule is attached to this newsletter.  There are still plenty of shifts available, please consider volunteering for one.  Contact Chris St. Pierre at [email protected]

President's Letter

Fellow Gardeners,

Well, that was a most interesting weekend. I hope that everyone weathered the storm and stayed safe and as warm as possible.   Mother Nature did some pruning of my neighborhood trees-a large spruce in my garden will come down and woody ornamentals suffered some loss but it could have been far worse.  Time to redesign-- say goodbye to old friends and welcome in the new.

Seeds are available in the plant clinic office and will be available at our March 25th General Meeting.

Appreciation: Dr. Jacobson's lecture on climate change was one of our more interesting presentations.  We all thank Michael Almonte for arranging the day.

Upcoming:

The bus trip to the Providence Flower Show is February 21. If you have not purchased tickets, please call Bob Firth at 508.428.7944.

Our lecturer for the March 25th General Meeting is fellow Master Gardener, Mary Ann Buss. Mary Ann will present a visual travelogue of her trips to various gardens.

Continuing Education Day is Saturday, April 6. A terrarium workshop is Friday, April 5. Please direct your questions to Lynne Dowdall.

Spring is just around the corner-I promise.
