FSI 508 APU Series

Fiber SenSys's recent releases of the 508 Alarm Processor Unit series continue to attract attention throughout the security industry.  Meeting government and military network interests as well as private sector perimeter security needs, the SL508, FD508 and dedicated HC508 provide a new generation of network security protection units with significant capabilities.

SL508 SL508

Government computer networks are now protected using a cost effective fiber-optic sensor solution.  The SL508 enhances security through single-strand zones, enhanced annunciation/response criteria and network communications capabilities.

An integral part of the SecurLAN network protection model, the SL508 enables a network carrier system to meet the DOD requirements for Protected Distribution Systems (PDS), a government requirement for physical protection of classified network data.  SecurLAN has been approved and certified for the protection of the PDS, and is compatible with all varieties of network architectures, including secure passive optical networks.

Features

  • Up to 8 zones per APU
  • Single strand sensing cable design - no loop back required
  • Compatibility with industry-standard head end systems

FD508
FD508 Perimeter APU

The FD508 incorporates Fiber SenSys' proprietary and patent-pending technology that has been successfully deployed in thousands of sensors throughout the world in a versatile fiber-optic sensor. The FD508 detects intruders attempting to climb or cut through fences using a proven high-security technology. Sophisticated algorithms distinguish between actual intruders and "nuisance alarms" that might be caused by wind, wildlife or other environmental conditions. The fiber-optic sensor works by measuring laser signals resulting from potential intruders who vibrate the structure to which the fiber is attached.

Features:
  • Up to 8 zones per APU; each zone up to 800 meters of sensing cable
  • Passive fiber-optic sensor
  • Remote control and monitoring over TCP/IP network

HC508

  HC508

Fiber SenSys and partner Holocom, the leader in standard hardened carrier PDS, have teamed up to offer customers the HC508. With the same full security features as the SL508, this new offering from Holocom/Fiber SenSys is an ideal combined solution, providing the widest range of APU options - easily modified when requirements change - but at lower cost.

Fiber SenSys SecurLAN protects both fiber optic and copper cable infrastructure intrusion; sitting in parallel within the Holocom Secure Raceway, SecurLAN accurately detects vibrations and alerts security authorities.

Holocom; FSI Western Regional Director of Sales, Josh Gardner; and major Fiber SenSys/Holocom distributor Accu-Tech will be demonstrating and promoting the HC508 joint PDS solution at TechNet Asia-Pacific in Hawaii Nov. 13-15. This annual event, the largest and most complete defense, communications and information technology event in the Asia-Pac region, answers the perimeter and network security needs of the Pacific Rim.
