A new year and a very new perception to life...this is the feeling I get since this year started. Here at Medica Nova, the Live-classes and online courses at the University of New Mexico are in full swing and right now, I am taking care of 80 students, who are eagerly learning about self-care, vibrant health, and homeopathy. It is a true joy to share all my knowledge with so many young people...so they too can go out into the world and teach others about effective holistic medicine.

Never than ever before, during this extraordinary time in human history, are we asked to commit ourselves to become an authentic ambassador of our soul's assignment and to actively participate in our personal transformation.

The LIVER and GALLBLADDER are expressions of the WOOD ELEMENT. Its archetype is the PIONEER and STRATEGIST / DIRECTING.

It is yang/masculine in character. The predominant attributes are considered to be strength and flexibility, as with bamboo. It is also associated with qualities of generosity and idealism. One quality of the Wood element is LEADERSHIP.

It is the LEADER WITHIN US, that can take charge and determine a plan of action. The wood is one that seeks always to grow and expand. Wood heralds the beginning of life, springtime and buds and sensuality.

The LIVER is the largest gland in the body and one of the most important for overall health. It is situated on the right hand side in the upper abdomen beneath the diaphragm. It literally is capable of COMPLETE SELF-RENEWAL at a faster rate than the rest of the body.

The GALLBLADDER is a small bag attached to the underside of the LIVER and it is here that the bile is stored until it is required. Fluctuations in energy levels can attributed to liver and gallbladder imbalance. This is reflected in SLUGGISHNESS, TIREDNESS, and LETHARGY. Being OVERWEIGHT or EXCESSIVELY THIN can sometimes be attributed to the liver. First start with cutting out all coffee, tea and alcohol for three days. This will prepare you for the cleanse and already the body will begin to release old and sluggish toxins.
