CENTRAL CONGREGATIONAL
UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST
Our New Associate Minister beginning August 1, 2016: The Rev. Lacey Renee Brown
Last night (Monday, April 25), the Council received the recommendation from the Associate Minister Search Committee and by unanimous vote issued a call to The Rev. Lacey Renee Brown to become the Associate Minister on August 1, 2016.

The Search Committee conducted a national search (listing the position on the national UCC employment opportunities and in the SE Conference E-News).  They reviewed the profiles of seven candidates (a 10+ page "resume") and selected the candidate they felt was the best match for the community and ministries of Central.

Rev. Lacey grew up in Ft Myers, Florida with her loving family. After leaving her home town, she attended undergraduate school at Flagler College where she received a BA in Religion. In 2012, she completed her M.Div from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA. During her final year of seminary, she was named the Preaching Fellow at Druid Hills Presbyterian Church.

She was brought on staff at Central UCC in 2013 as the part-time youth minister. In 2014 she became our Pastoral Fellow and has served the church in many capacities since then. Along with her work at Central, Rev. Lacey has served on the Board of the Southeast Conference since 2014 and co-chaired the planning team for the annual Winter Youth Retreat in Blowing Rock, NC.

Rev. Lacey brings with her a talent for preaching, a love of people, and a vision for the future. She is a current member of Kirkwood United Church of Christ. In her free time, you can find her at the dog park with Rocky, sitting around the dinner table with friends and family, or hiking with her partner, Jordyne. Rev. Lacey is overjoyed to be named the new Associate Minister and is looking for opportunities to connect with new folks. If you'd like to have coffee or lunch with Rev. Lacey, please email her.
