Halloween Bananas

Once again, it's past time to update our wonderful supporters. THANK YOU, Thank You, Thank you! Because of your donations, we have been able to save more lives which we are VERY grateful for. Sarah was scheduled to be killed and came to our facility a few weeks ago. Olive, just a puppy, was going to be killed because she was homeless. Dust, bunny, became homeless when her owner became very ill and has been in the hospital for several weeks.  All our latest rescues are very sweet and happy to be alive. Your donation helped make it possible to pay veterinary fees, microchips and pay for food.

We also paid over $500 for tests and veterinary care for Clipper our Great Dane. Unfortunately, we lost him. Of course when one thing goes wrong, something else has to go wrong. The skid steer went belly up and Clipper's grave had to be dug by hand. Lightening knocked out our Internet Service provider tower which took four days to fix, one of our computers went belly up so I lost all letters which had been saved in the draft file, Rosie (with no back legs) requires at least three loads of laundry per day because she is incontinent and she wakes me up at 3 A.M. (this morning was 2:45!), Snuggles is now blind, needs bathed almost daily because he is incontinent, Buffy was rushed to the veterinarian just this past Monday due to old age related issues......and the list continues!

I've been trying to catch up on dog grooming, phone calls, etcetera, since my broken foot put me behind with the work load. Well, my over-exuberance to catch up with the work load made my foot hurt like crazy. I was worried that I had hurt it worse and ended up having more x-rays in Cheyenne. My foot is healing but the doctor ordered me to go back to wearing the large bulky black boot , get as much bed-rest as possible, take pain pills and STOP with the work (laugh of the month)......Boo!

I hope the above explains the delay in thanking you and sending out electronic newsletters!

Thank you again! Hope You're Having a Spooktacular October,

Linda York, President

Let the Halloween fun begin!!

Silly Sarah & Newbies!

Meet Sarah! She was saved from a kill facility within a couple days of being killed.      Originally a stray, she was on their euthanasia list. As you can see by clicking her picture, she's VERY smart! We're guessing she's only about a year and a half old and it looks like she has had puppies.      She is now spayed. Poor Sarah knew her time was up and she had just shut down and refused to eat.

Meet Olive! She is a PUPPY!! "Black Olive" is only about a year old. Olive was taken to a vet's office to be killed by a pound because she was a homeless stray. Nobody would take her because they thought she was aggressive towards other dogs. Olive LOVES to play with other dogs and does NOT show aggression. She shows fear at first which is normal puppy behavior. What a shame that her fear almost got her killed.

Olive does need some more training, but she is coming along beautifully since she is SO smart. She does not tear up her bedding or soil her bed at night. She will make a WONDERUL family member to the right home. Don't you just LOVE black olives!!

Hi!

My name is Dust because everyone needs more dust bunnies! I'm not even a year old. My owner purchased me for her Granddaughter at Easter who didn't want me. Why, I don't know. I'm a LOVE and enjoy being held.   Rabbits don't make good pets for small children because we aren't cuddly.  I'm cute and cuddly and LOVE climbing on cat trees!

Saying Good-bye

Many of our pet pals have had to say good-bye to their beloved two and four legged family members recently.
You are not alone in your grief. Another very special supporter just passed away a few days ago. It was a pleasure to know Alberta and her family. She was one of the most elegant, well-dressed women you could ever have met! Albertta. (Click the blue to read about her)

REMINDER.... It CAN be deadly

KEEP ID tags on your loved ones!
KEEP ID Tags on your pets!

Keep ID tags on your pets and NEVER leave them outside unattended.  WHY anyone would leave their pets outside when nobody is home is STUPID and DANGEROUS!!

(This month especially when pets can get scared of the ghosts and goblins. )

We have posted the above in at least 40+ newsletters. It's so frustrating when people don't think it will happen to their pet. Worse yet, is when Rescues and Shelters don't care enough to put ID tags on their pets. We read almost daily about a dog who was recently adopted or is lost during a transport and they have no ID tag.  They, of all people, should be LEADERS and set good examples.

When someone is baby-sitting your pet, do they know not to leave your pet outside unattended? This recently happened to a frequent visitor (Mommy is a volunteer) at Pet Pals, Inc.  Ash is now dead because she was left outside unattended and expected to stay in a yard with an electronic (invisible) fence. Poor Ash, RIP   One mistake was deadly. PLEASE learn from someone else's heartbreak.

We have also told people about seat belts for several years..... Click below to read about this reminder:

Rosie Update

Rosie Wheelchair

Rosie continues to be a happy girl even though she has no back legs.  Rosie LOVES company and gets so excited when visitors come and pet her!

THANK YOU for helping Rosie. It was a very hard decision to decide whether to spend more money on her or say good-bye. Being a NO-Kill shelter, we chose to save her and are VERY glad we did. A special thanks to the wonderful veterinarians at Laramie Peak Vet Clinic! Click her picture to see how she runs around!

Pet Pals, Inc. has NEVER killed a pet due to issues. Pets are only euthanized when they are suffering and EVERY opportunity to save them has failed.
