Did you know?  Long Term Care insurance companies paid out $7.1B (that is $7,000,000,000) in benefits during 2014.  That is a lot of home care, adult day care, assisted living and nursing home days.

Last month, I had the good fortune of being interviewed by Philip Bluestein, Esq.  A video of a portion of that interview can be seen by clicking on the article below.  Phil is a trustworthy & highly-qualified planning attorney who also focuses on helping medical practices.  I strongly recommend Philip Bluestein if you are looking for legal advice pertaining to either.

Long Term Care Insurance Claims

From a recent webinar by Genworth Financial.  Here are some interesting factoids from one insurance company's

38 year history of paying long term care claims.

-- Most expensive (for the insurance company) claims: Dementia & Parkinson's.

-- Youngest claimant: 27 years old.

-- Oldest claimant: 103 years old.

-- Average age of claimant (& much more): Click Here

A plan to pay for Long Term Care services is not a financial plan.  But a financial plan that does not address long term care can not be a complete financial plan.
Sincerely,
 Ray Smith
