Earlier this month, my wife & I had the good fortune of attending an Air Force reunion at Scott Air Force Base, IL, 20 miles east of St. Louis.  I was stationed there at Military Airlift Command (since renamed Air Mobility Command) Headquarters in the 1970's.  It was great to again see people, good people, I had served with so long ago.  The years had been kind to many, but not to all.

Stories were told & retold, glasses lifted, & those no longer with us remembered.

The reunion rekindled my personal feeling of having played a small part along with many others, in helping keep our great nation free & safe.

What has this got to do with Planning for Long term Care?  Nothing at all.  I just wanted to share.

Impact of the Affordable Care Act (aka Obama Care) on Long Term Care

Nothing.  The Affordable Care Act will radically change health insurance in the U.S., starting with plans effective January 1, 2014.  It will not however, impact long term care in any way.  Long term care services will continue posing a major threat to everyone's retirement security. Those who still qualify medically should seriously consider applying for long term care insurance.

A plan to pay for Long Term Care services is not a financial plan.  But a financial plan that does not address long term care can not be a complete financial plan.
