Time Warner Cable Announces Major Enhancements to its Ethernet Services Portfolio
Time Warner Cable Business Class is pleased to announce significant enhancements to our Ethernet Services portfolio available for sales through our partner channel. TWCBC Ethernet Services are the preferred choice for businesses requiring WAN connectivity to support their critical business applications. It does not matter if the businesses' locations are clustered within a Metro Area, dispersed across a State, or scattered across the Nation, TWCBC can deliver the ideal Ethernet Services at cost-effective price points. With this announcement all new Ethernet prospects, will have the benefit of the following enhancements (compared to the Legacy Ethernet Solutions):
* Support for circuits between the TWC regions (LA to NYC, Dallas to Columbus etc.), or National Ethernet, without the need to go through an ICB process
* Access to a new Customer Performance Portal which will give customers visibility to the performance of their network
It is important to note that the new Ethernet Services offering will be available to new TWCBC Ethernet customers only at this time. Existing TWCBC Ethernet customers requiring additional circuits or changes to their service should continue to be offered the Legacy Ethernet Solutions. (See Sales Rules section for more details)
The Ethernet Services - Ethernet Private Line (EPL), Ethernet Virtual Private Line (EVPL), and Ethernet Private LAN (EP-LAN), are all certified to be in compliance with Metro Ethernet Forum Carrier Ethernet 2.0 standards. MEF CE 2.0 Certification allows businesses to be sure that TWCBC Ethernet Services meet industry standards.
TWCBC Ethernet Services are also backed by industry-leading Service Level Agreements (SLAs) which clearly specify the performance metrics and expectations for the services. Businesses will have access to a Customer Performance Portal which will allow them to view performance metrics and fine tune their network to best support their needs.
Details of the New Features and Improvements:
* National Ethernet Circuits: Service coverage coast to coast, leveraging TWC's backbone network and last mile access from alternate providers for servicing out of footprint locations. Single bill and point of contact for customer care. Standard National Rate Cards are available now for Ethernet Line (EPL and EVPL) or Ethernet LAN (EP-LAN) connections. The rates are highly competitive and will be available with the same contract terms and discount structure as Metro and Regional connections. This will make it easier to quote and win customer opportunities that need nationwide connectivity, thus improving the overall customer experience by decreasing the time to deliver a quote.
* Customer Performance Portal: Customers will have access to a secure web portal, to view circuit level performance metrics. Additionally, customers can run performance reports to get a historical view of their circuit performance. The portal will allow customers to help them manage and fine tune their network. Critical statistics will be compiled into simple reports which can be used to evaluate usage trends and make informed business decisions to ensure their network is ideally sized and configured.
* Increased flexibility and scalability: Based on network availability, there are an increased number of speed tiers, specifically, 5Mbps to 10Gbps over fiber.
* Support for Off-Net Locations: For customers requiring connectivity to locations that are not directly reachable by the TWCBC network, the processes to support Type 2 circuits have been improved and standardized to aid in quicker turnaround for sales through consistent M&P's. Ethernet Services will be available to off-net locations across the country via connections with over 25 service providers across 130 External Network-to-Network Connections (ENNIs).
* Standardization: The Ethernet product operating model (POM) has undergone major upgrades and enhancements to improve the efficiency of ordering and quoting Ethernet services. The new Ethernet Services Configurator wizard in salesforce.com will reduce manual work steps and automate key steps required to order and set up Ethernet Services. Another key enhancement is integration between Salesforce.com and EXPO which will increase the efficiency of establishing the customer circuit into the Granite inventory tool through an automated process. These are just a few of the process and system enhancements that will improve our customer responsiveness (from quote to install).
