Nurses are important to environmental health! | |
Interested in being a member of a proposed "Environmental Health Committee" for NNA?
The Nevada Nurses Association has an opportunity to advance the practice of nursing by enhancing the level of knowledge about environmental health. Through increased awareness and knowledge of environmental risks and risk reduction interventions, the nurses in our state can best advocate for quality health care and health prevention initiatives. NNA is considering forming a new committee on Environmental Health.
If you would like to be involved with the initial committee led by Dr. Bernadette Longo, please contact:

What's happening at NNA?
NNA Horizontal Violence Committee (now the Nevada State Collaborative on Lateral Violence in Nursing) will hold the first Train the Trainers for the new curriculum in September. This will be a small group, but will mark the start of an effort to bring this training to all Nevada nurses. It's time for civility to be the rule in every workplace.
The Healthy Nurse Initiative is moving forward. Plans are underway for a new website. Planned webinars for the remainder of the year include: Staying Hydated at Work, 12-Hour Shifts and Nutrition, Relaxation and Meditation, Exercise, and many more. The Healthy Nurse website is being developed.
The Legislative Committee is hard at work during the session monitoring legislation that may impact nursing.
In keeping with Board goals, we are working to have NNA & nursing represented widely on committees.
The Professional Development Committee is planning monthly webinars with free CEUs for members.
