HOW TO GET THERE

By Plane: The easiest way to get to Halong Bay is to fly to Hanoi's International Airport, Noi Bai.  Major airlines that fly to Hanoi include:  Emirates, Vietnam Airlines, Qatar Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, Malaysia Airlines, Aeroflot, China Eastern, China Southern, Japan Airlines and EVA Air.

From Hanoi, transfer by car to the port at Halong Bay (driving time approx 3.5 hours).

By Car:  Halong Bay is relatively easy to get to by car from the surrounding towns, but from any major city (Saigon, Danang, Nha Trang, Hue, etc.) it's best to fly to Hanoi and then transfer by car.

By Sea Plane:  Hai Au Aviation offers the first-ever and only seaplane experiences in Vietnam.  Departing from Noi Bai Airport, the destination for this short flight is the coastal port town of Halong Bay. Enjoy fabulous aerial views over the countryside and experience the thrill of a water landing at the Tuan Chau Island Marina. The flight can be extended to include an additional 15-minute scenic tour over the bay, which allows you to enjoy a bird's eye view of the thousands of limestone karsts jutting up from the jade green waters and see remote fishing villages before landing at Tuan Chau Island Marina.

Key points of interest when flying by sea plane:
Picturesque Red River Delta to the coast of Tonkin Gulf with magnificent patchwork of green fields, farms, people and animals.
Co Loa - the oldest city in Vietnam, also the former capital of Van Lang Au Lac Vietnamese kingdom located in the center of Red River Delta together with the Thang Long 1000 years-old Hanoi ancient heritage.
Luc Dau Giang - where all the rivers meet and in Pha Lai, all the rivers join together before running into the Pacific Ocean, forming a fabulous nature amidst the immense paddy fields.
Hai Phong City has been well-known for its complex of deep water anchorage seaports with large facilities for maritime industry.
Tuan Chau Island about 8 kilometers to the southwest side of Ha Long Bay, consists of multiple sloping hills, stretching over 2 kilometers long with white smooth sand and yellow sunshine the whole summer.

ABOUT HALONG BAY

This UNESCO World Heritage Site is considered by many to be one of the Natural Wonders of the World, and for good reason. Over 2,000 magnificent limestone karsts rise from the clear, emerald waters of the Gulf of Tonkin, making for a truly picturesque scene. The limestone basin reveals stalactite caves, crescent beaches and odd-shaped formations. It is also famous for its varied ecological system housing thousands of fish species, along with hundreds of coral and other sea creatures.
