Dear Travel Partners,
Focus Asia proudly presents our Partner Tiger Trail Travel, sharing our booth in Hall 26A, 110.
Sustainable and also Community based tourism (CBT) in Laos has received growing attention over the past years and the "Fairtrek" initiative has set leading examples with its special tours and excursions in Laos.
Fair Trek operates under Tiger Trail Travel (www.laos-adventures.com), a leading destination management company based in Luang Prabang. Founded in 2000, Tiger Trail is one of the pioneers in alternative tourism in Luang Prabang and has since also proven to be an innovator in sustainable travel in Laos.
In 2007 Tiger Trail created "Fairtrek" (www.fairtrek.org) out of a desire to help local communities benefit from tourism. Those early beginnings saw the implementation of innovative community-based tourism initiatives that empowered rural villages to gain direct access to the economic benefits of tourism. Today, Fair Trek continues to develop programs that are a reflection of respect and love for Laos. The community-based tourism initiatives were the first of its kind in Luang Prabang and are widely recognized for their impacts in the Mekong sub-region.
Markus Neuer, owner of Tiger Trail and definitely one of the most knowledgable experts about Laos, welcomes you for an introduction about "Fairtrek" and his approach on substainable Tourism in Laos on Friday, March 11 at 5:30pm in hall 26A, booth 110. Enjoy a beer, some Asian delights and learn about new opportunities for your clients when travelling to one of the last secrets of Asia.
