Green Season Laos
11 February 2015

Dear Travel Partners,

We are pleased to provide you with the following news, new tours and special offers for Laos during this Green Season period...

Congratulations to Laos!

Laos was one of the winners of WANDERLUST Travel Awards for 2015.  The country of Laos came in at 8th position as "Top Country" and the city of Luang Prabang came in at 1st position as "Top City."

"Luang Prabang is never far from the top spot in this category - proof of its enduring charm, and the bevvy of treasures and unique experiences that await every traveler."

Nam Nern Night Safari - 5 Days Deep Into Laos

Located in North East Laos, Nam Et-Phou Louey is the largest national park in Laos and it's well-known for his rich biodiversity such as tigers or gibbons.

To enjoy this experience we will recommend you start this adventure with a visit to Xieng Khouang and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of The Plain of Jars, then progress on to the ethnic Kamu village of "Ban Son Khoua". After lunch and introduction to the rangers you will begin your journey by long tail boat to the jungle camp. After a break get back onboard the boat to reach the deepest part of the jungle, during this trip the rangers who are experienced trackers, will show you evidence of the local wildlife and talk about the species of animals that you may see.

Dine around a campfire before floating silently down river with engines off to avoid disturbing the animals. Animals that are often seen include; sambar deer, barking deer, slow loris, porcupine, owls and various civet species.

You will get back to the camp around 11:00pm for a good night's rest in the forest. The next morning, before breakfast,  the local guides will take you on a walk around the jungle, teaching you about the medicinal use of some of the plants and explaining the history of the site, which was once a major settlement during the Secret War.  Enjoy this scenic and educational walk before leaving the village with some unforgettable memories.

*Nam Nern Night Safari is also a great alternative for the people who enter into Laos from Vietnam via Vieng Xay at the border of Nam Neo.

Next, drive towards Luang Prabang, following the Nam Ou River then up and over the mountains.  Along the way, visit the village of Ban Na Nyang, famous for cotton weaving, and also stop at Pak Ou Village, where you will cross the Mekong River by boat and visit Tam Ting Cave (the cave of a thousand Buddha images).  Enjoy the remainder of your trip cruising along the Mekong until you reach the UNESCO World Heritage City of Luang Prabang where you will check into your hotel.
