Dear Travel Partners,
We are pleased to bring you the following sporting news for Cambodia and updates from Vietnam...
The Angkor Wat International Half Marathon - 19th December 2014 This internationally recognized half marathon raises relief for the victims of antipersonnel mines in Cambodia. With the support of many Japanese running enthusiasts, the Angkor Wat International Half Marathon NGO started the race in 1996, with participants from all over the world. Attended by many landmine victims, this great international race takes place inside the ruins of Angkor Wat, a World Heritage Site, and has been held annually to give the victims courage and hope, as well as to appeal to the world to support the "ban on the use of antipersonnel mines."
Purpose of Event:
Runners from all over the world participate to support a ban on the manufacture and inhumane use of antipersonnel mines. Entry fees and additional financial support foster independence among landmine victims by helping provide prosthetic limbs, social reintegration programs, and supporting other relevant and needed programs such as education and prevention of HIV / AIDS.
Thanks to international support from around the world, both healthy and disabled people are inspired and encouraged by the competition, greatly benefiting many communities throughout Cambodia.

DaNang is voted The World's Top Emerging Tourist Destination by Trip Advisor
Travel website TripAdvisor just released its 2014 list of "Destinations on the Rise." The rankings feature locations across the globe "that have received the greatest increase in positive feedback and interest from TripAdvisor members, year over year," according to CNN.
This year, DaNang took the top spot for its food, beaches, and of course, it's very cool dragon bridge:
"The port city of Da Nang is a beacon for foodies, who flock here to sample the famously fresh and bold flavors of Central Vietnamese cuisine. Taste your way through the streets on a walking or biking culinary tour. Work off those bowls of spicy noodle soup with an exploration of the caves and grottos of the Marble Mountains. Be sure to time your nighttime stroll so you pass the Dragon Bridge when its "head" breathes fire over the River Han," wrote the site.
We are also pleased to see Cambodia's emerging beach town of Sihanoukville coming in at a close second.
