Activities
Bowling
Practices are April 4, 11, 18 & 25
Practice is held every Monday, excluding City holidays, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Altamonte AMF Lanes. Scores are recorded throughout the year. Cost is $2 per game and includes shoes. 

Bowling Banquet
June 13 | 6 - 8 p.m. | Eastmonte Park

Nightbird Dance
April 8 | Country Western Hoe Down
Themed dances are held one Friday a month from 7 to 9 p.m. at Eastmonte Park. Prizes are awarded for dance and costume contest winners and birthdays. Drinks and light snacks are provided. Cost is $2 per participant and $1 per guest (parent, caregiver, etc).

Belly Dance 
Practice on April 6 & 20
Our Special Needs Belly Dancers and family members meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Eastmonte Park to exercise and prepare for performances. 

Cheerleading 
Competition on April 2 
Sparklers Sapphire and Diamond will attend the JamBash Cheer Competition at the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee. Athletes will celebrate the end of their season with a party on Sunday, April 10 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Lake Brantley South.

Latin Fiesta Ballroom Dance Showcase
April 24 | 1:30 - 2:45 p.m. | Lake Brantley South Gym
Join us for a spicy ballroom dance showcase featuring our talented dancers trained by the Orlando Chapter of USA Dance. The show also includes special guest performances by local dancers. Admission is free.

STOP Trips (Saturday Time Out for Parents)

Registration opens April 8 at 9 a.m.

May 7 | 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. | 34th Annual Softball Game against News 6
Corrected registration date: April 29 at 9 a.m.

Trips are held one Saturday a month. The day will include an entertaining or educational field trip and lunch. Drop off and pick up is at Eastmonte Park. Cost is $3 per participant. Feel free to send souvenir money for trips. Please contact Ranwa Nin Iamaio to reserve your spot by leaving a voicemail or email. Reservations are taken in the order in which they are received. You will receive a confirmation email within two business days. Space is limited. Financial assistance is available. A program T-shirt is required. 

NEW: When registering, please clearly state whether you are a general participant or an assisted participant. General participants are supervised by program volunteers on a 1:5 ratio. Assisted participants provide their own 1:1 caretaker. The caretaker must be able to transport the participant and themselves. Exceptions are made for participants in wheelchairs.

Voices of Joy Concert
April 21| 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. | Eastmonte Park
Registration opens April 4 at 9 a.m.
"Voices of Joy" is a high energy music and dance experience for audiences of all ages. Enjoy a wide variety of musical styles and genres as they share their voices of joy with you! All Special Needs Recreation participants, families and volunteers are welcome to attend the performance for FREE. Learn more about "Voices of Joy" here. Please call or email to reserve your seat. Reservations are taken in the order in which they are received. You will receive a confirmation email within two business days.

  • 3:30 p.m. - Meet at Eastmonte Park
  • 4 - 5 p.m. - Show time at Eastmonte Park
  • 5:30 p.m. - Pick up at Eastmonte Park

Volunteers Needed
STOP Trips
Our Saturday STOP Trips could use the help of more volunteers. Enjoy a fun day out while supervising participants through activities. Lunch is provided. Please sign up in advance for our April 16 and May 7 STOP Trips by emailing RRIamaio@altamonte.org.

Summer Clubhouse | Wednesdays in June and July
We are recruiting volunteers for this Summer's Clubhouse. Volunteers are needed on Wednesdays from 8:45 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. Clubhouse dates are June 8, 15, 22, 29 and July 6, 13, 20, 27. Two orientation options are available: a morning and evening session on Wednesday, June 1. To register to volunteer, click here.
