Activities
STOP Trips
Trips take place one Saturday a month and are socially, physically and educationally beneficial field trips. Drop off and pick up is at Eastmonte Park. Cost is $3 per participant. Lunch is provided. Financial assistance is available. Feel free to send souvenir money for trips. Reservations are taken in the order received. Please call or email to reserve your spot. Space is limited. Upcoming trips:
  • Access-Life Expo Ocoee
    October 3 | 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Sea World Orlando
    November 7 | 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

    Registration opens at 9 a.m. on October 30
    * Limited space: Due to the high demand of theme park trips, a random drawing will take place after all reservations are received to select participants attending this trip. Participants should plan to bring money for snacks/dinner.
Ballroom Dance
Fall Session Begins October 4
The Orlando Chapter of USA Dance teaches an 8-week workshop on Sundays at the Lake Brantley South Gym. 

Sparklers Cheerleading - Season 11
Season Begins October 4

Voices of Joy
November 12 | Eastmonte Park
Registration Opens October 5 at 9 a.m.
"Voices of Joy" is a high energy music and dance experience for audiences of all ages. Enjoy a wide variety of musical styles and genres as they share their voices of joy with you! All Special Needs Recreation participants, families and volunteers are welcome to attend the performance for FREE. Learn more about "Voices of Joy" herePlease call or email to reserve your seat.

  • 2:30 p.m. - Meet at Eastmonte Park
  • 3:15 - 4:15 p.m. - Show time
  • 4:30 p.m. - Pick up at Eastmonte Park
Bowling
Practices are October 5, 12, 19 & 26
Practice is held every Monday, excluding City holidays, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Altamonte AMF Lanes. Scores are recorded throughout the year. Cost is $2 per game and includes shoes. 

Thursday Night Out
Karaoke Night | October 15
Cooking Class | October 22
Thursday Night Out is held on the third and fourth Thursday of each month at Westmonte Park from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Cost is $1 per person. Light refreshments are provided. RSVP for cooking classes one week prior.

8th Annual Belly Dance Recital
October 16 | 7-9 p.m. | Eastmonte Park 

Special Needs Belly Dancers invite you to enjoy a night of performances by our dancers and guests from the belly dance community. Cost is $2. Snacks and lucky tickets are available for purchase. Lucky ticket prizes include restaurant gift cards, Aquatica tickets and more! Click here for more information.

Nightbird Dance
October 23 | Halloween Bash
Themed dances are held one Friday a month from 7 to 9 p.m. at Eastmonte Park. Prizes are awarded for dance and costume contest winners and birthdays. Drinks and light snacks are provided. Cost is $2 per participant and $1 per guest (parent, caregiver, etc).
