The City of Altamonte Springs Special Needs Recreation and the Advisory Board for the Disabled, Inc. provide social and recreational activities at a minimal cost to the mentally and physically challenged population, ages 13 and up, in Altamonte Springs and surrounding communities.

Swim Lessons   
Session 1 Registration Opens May 5   

Swim lesson sessions are designed to meet the needs of each individual by offering eight, 15-minute classes with 1-on-1 instruction. Sessions are for ages 3 & up. Registration for Session 1 opens May 5 at 9 a.m. Financial assistance is available. For a full list of registration and session dates, visit www.ASRecreation.org.  

The Clubhouse - Summer Session
Registration Opens May 5, 9 a.m.

The Clubhouse is a time when friends come together to experience adventures and create memories through crafts, games, guest speakers, field trips, and more! The Clubhouse is held on Wednesdays in June and July (excluding July 30) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Eastmonte Recreation Center. Space is limited and financial assistance is available. Volunteers are still needed to serve as counselors from 8:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Orientation is scheduled for May 21. For more information or to register, click here. 

"Voices of Joy" Trip
Registration Now Open
"Voices of Joy" is a high-energy music and dance experience for all ages. Enjoy a variety of musical styles and genres. This show is open to our special needs participants and volunteers at no cost. The show will be Thursday, May 8 at Willow Creek Church in Winter Springs. The trip will be from 3 - 8 p.m. and the show is from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. Transportation is provided from Eastmonte Park. Participants should bring money for dinner at McDonalds after the show. To reserve your spot, call or email Nin. 
32nd Annual Softball Game
Altamonte Specials All-Stars vs Local 6 News
Join us May 10 as we celebrate 32 years of friendship, fun and softball with an exciting game featuring the STOP participants verses the WKMG Local 6 News Team! Participants should arrive at 10 a.m. with the first pitch at 11 a.m. Lunch and Awards to follow. The action will take place on the Buddy Ball Field at Eastmonte Park. To participate in the game, call or email Nin on May 2 at 9 a.m.  
Bowling

Last day to RSVP for the Bowling Banquet is May 5.

 

There will be no bowling May 26 in observance of  

Memorial Day.
