at a minimal cost to the mentally and physically challenged population, ages 13 and up in Altamonte Springs

and surrounding communities.

The Altamonte Sparklers are a group of male and female cheerleaders with special needs who have been training and competing since 2005. Practices are held on Sundays during October-April at Lake Brantley HS South. Click here to watch a short video

 

Volunteers, 16 and up, with or without experience are encouraged to sign up before September 15 by calling

S.T.O.P. TRIPS

"Saturday Time Out for Parents"

STOP Trips take place one Saturday a month and are socially, physically and educationally beneficial field trips. Cost: $3 per person with lunch provided. Drop off and pick up is at Eastmonte Park. *Feel free to send souvenir money for trips.

BALLROOM DANCE

Registration Opens Monday, September 9

We invite current and new dancers to sign up for our Fall Ballroom dance workshop, scheduled to start on Sunday, October 6. Cost is $20 per participant and free for volunteer dance partners. Practices are held at Lake Brantley South each Sunday, October 6 - November 10 from

1 - 2:30pm. Dress Rehersal is Sunday, November 17 from 1 - 3pm with the Ballroom Stars Showcase the following week, November 24. Visit www.asrecreation.org to register. Space is limited.

 

NIGHTBIRD DANCES

Crazy Hat Dance

Join us Friday, September 13, at Eastmonte Park from 7 - 9pm. Cost is $2 per participant and $1 per guest. Drinks and light snacks will be provided. Prizes awarded for dance contest winners, costume contest winners & birthdays! If you have a group home or a large party, please call in advance and we will reserve your group a table(s).

BOWLING PRACTICES
Practice is held every Monday at the Altamonte AMF Lanes from 3 - 5pm. Cost is $2 per game. Scores are recorded throughout the year and trophies will be awarded at the banquet.

Special Olympics Eligibility
Altamonte Recreation Bowling is an approved site for Special Olympics Bowling. Good Luck to our bowlers who will compete in Area Games on Saturday, September 28.
THURSDAY NIGHT OUT 

Westmonte Park from 7:30-8:30pm

"Thursday Night Outs" are held on the 3rd and 4th Thursday of the month at Westmonte Park from 7:30-8:30pm. Cost: $1.00 with refreshments included.

September 26: Cooking with Ranger Mike (make your own kabob)

6th ANNUAL BELLY DANCE RECITAL
