Blessings these hot days in New Mexico.
Amidst your summer activities we want to keep you posted on our prayers, work and advocacy to continue to care for this Sacred Earth Community.

*NMIPL continues to work on the EPA and BLM methane campaigns addressing pollution from methane releases, flares and waste from oil  and gas production. Let us know if you would like to collect signatures on a supportive petition to our leaders.

*NMIPL was very honored to join the Muslim community of the Dialogue Instituteand the NM Interfaith Hunger Coalition at an Iftar to pray and break the Ramadan fast on June 28. This was also the day of the bombing in Turkey, so it was very poignant to join our brothers and sisters. We are so pleased to have Necip Orhan, Director of the Dialogue Institute on our NMIPL board. NMIPL was honored by the community there for our work...an unexpected and very humbling gift.

*I was honored to offer a prayer at a very special event at La Plazita Institute in the South Valley of Albuquerque on Saturday, June 25 blessing guns that had been forged into garden

tools.  Our members the Albuquerque Mennonite Community sponsored this powerful day showing that violence can be moved to caring for all in Creation. Thank you Mennonites!!

*NMIPL was also part of the Climate Justice week oranized by Larry Rasmussen at Ghost Ranch the last week in June. A very powerful week that shed new insights into the work of NMIPL for Climate Justice. If you are interested in learning more about this contact [email protected].

So much more is happening read snapshots of what is coming up below. What a grace to work with so many diverse faith traditions and people dedicated to caring for our Sacred Earth Community as we address Climate Justice.

Several months ago NMIPL co-sponsored a webinar with  CA IPL highlighting a new group working solely with faith communities and non-profits in the US to finance solar through a hybrid LLC.  This might be a great option for your visioning.  Here is the link to the webinar, let us know if you are looking to install solar on your house of worship, we may be able to offer some helpful hints.  Collective Sun - webinar

Another solar note. NMIPL does not endorse any company, there are many good ones out there; however, if you use Affordable Solar and note NM IPL they will give us a donation.
