Learn why congregations, individuals, dioceses, meetings of friends and people of faith are addressing fossil fuel carbon emissions through a faith response with investments. Already World Council of Churches, United Church of Christ, Unitarian Universalists, Presbyterian Church USA, Methodist Conference and others have decided to divest or are considering this action.  Check out the Theological statement unveiled in September 2014 and the signers:

Faith, Money, Earth, and Divestment/Reinvestment

Come learn about current work of NMIPL, Celebrate faith communities and individuals receiving the SEED and SPROUT awards for their work in energy efficiency, renewables and creation care, enjoy music, silent auction and come early at 1:15 to tour First Unitarian's new Platinum LEED certified sanctuary and learn how they installed solar through a lease agreement with no money upfront.

Our special guest speaker, Rev. Fletcher Harper is an Episcopal priest who is the director of GreenFaith and works with dioceses, faith universities, congregations, meeting houses and others to learn why divestment/reinvestment is a matter of climate justice work for people of faith. The World Council of Churches, United Church of Christ, Unitarian Universalists, Presbyterian Church USA, Methodist Conference and numerous parishes and faith communities have said YES or are considering this faith action as a matter of climate justice.  More information  joan@nm-ipl.org or www.nm-ipl.org.
