Earth Sabbath Celebration

Remembering Climate Refugees as we celebrate Day of the Dead

earth sabbath

Monday, October 29, 2012,  7 pm

Albuquerque Mennonite Church, 1300 Girard NE, ABQ

Most people do not realize that we have climate refugees living in Albuquerque. Our prayer this month includes several stories of brothers and sisters in our midst offered by Ellen Buelow who works with refugees through Catholic Charities. As always the prayer is open to everyone and includes readings from many faith traditions, yoga, music and a 20 minute silent mediation time...all within a beautiful setting of candles and community.  Please come and invite others to be nourished.

Presents: LEAPS AND BOUNDS

Wednesday, November 14, 7pm

Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 114 Carlisle Blvd. SE, ABQ

A one woman show show produced and performed by Tevyn East.  Ms. East is touring faith communities and institutions of higher learning across the United States in 2012. Written in collaboration with Ched Myers, renowned biblical scholar and teacher, this show is about the interconnection of faith, ecology, and the global economy. Weaving biblical and personal narrative, dance, song, music, and a touch of economic theory, Leaps and Bounds wrestles with the driving factors of our ecological crisis while awakening the imagination to a new way of living with and relating to Earth.  Admission is $5 - $20 depending on what you can afford to pay. Co-sponsored by Immanuel Presbyterian Church and New Mexico Interfaith Power and Light.
