Vegan Mint Ice Cream
What You Need:
3 large bananas, cut into 1-inch pieces and frozen overnight
2 tablespoons almond milk
Seeds from 1 split vanilla bean
1 tablespoon cacao powder
3 tablespoons cacao nibs
2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint, plus more for garnish
What You Do:
1. In a food processor, add bananas, almond milk, vanilla seeds, and cacao powder. Process for 1 to 2 minutes to break up banana. Scrape down sides and process until bananas turn into a soft-serve consistency, repeating as needed, about 3 minutes.
2. Add cacao nibs and 2 tablespoons mint and pulse a few times to incorporate. Garnish with fresh mint. Serve immediately.

Greetings! The community mourns the loss of Kimati Dinizulu. His Father was the late Nana Opare Dinizulu, a world-respected African drummer. Below is a part 3-part lecture he conducted on the "Endangered African American Musical Instruments." He explains not only the instrument but the history behind the instrument. The family asks that you do not send flowers, but instead bring a plant (flowering or not) or an herb plant (dill, thyme, mint, sage, rosemary, basil). If you decide to bring a plant, please arrive with the plant by 12:30 p.m. Additionally, monetary donations will be accepted to the formation that Baba Sekou dedicated his life to. The Provisional Government of The Republic of New Afrika. A specific explanation will follow.
We are also asking, once again to highlight and honor Baba Sekou's dedication and commitment to community development, that you bring a dish to share at the repast. Dr. El Ha Gahn's 3-Week Beginner Reflexology Training has been rescheduled to launch in September 2013. It will a launch in place of the Advanced Reflexology Course which will launch in 2014.

This groundbreaking animated series, now in development in China, the US and the Caribbean, is the first project from African Legends Animation LLC, the new Bahamian-based company headed by Brother G and actor/producer Jeffrey Poitier, nephew of the legendary actor Sir Sidney Poitier. Brother G will be reading from several prose works slated for animation development including the critically acclaimed "Nimrod The Hunter" and the upcoming novel "Queen Nefertari: Protectress of the Nile."
There will also be a showing of Brother G's uproariously funny animated spoken word short "The Day Black Hair Stood Still." Attendees will get the scoop on this exciting new Black owned animation house along with background on each project's significance for African History and the international transmedia market. On Saturday, a jury acquitted George Zimmerman. But we are not done demanding justice for Trayvon Martin.
We're calling on the U.S. Justice Department to open a civil rights case against George Zimmerman and have launched a petition to Attorney General Eric Holder. The petition says:
The Department of Justice has closely monitored the State of Florida's prosecution of the case against George Zimmerman in the Trayvon Martin murder since it began. Today, with the acquittal of George Zimmerman, it is time for the Department of Justice to act.
The most fundamental of civil rights-the right to life-was violated the night George Zimmerman stalked and then took the life of Trayvon Martin. We ask that the Department of Justice file civil rights charges against Mr. Zimmerman for this egregious violation.
