Author David Talbott suggests that all of human history can be seen as just two stories. First, came the story of ancient mythology, when towering gods were said to have ruled the world. Then came the story of science, emerging from a growing distrust of the myths and a new emphasis on direct observation and reason.

This year, our event is the kickoff venue for the 1st Annual Harlem Wellness Week (see attached HWW) which will conclude on the following Saturday, May 4th at City College's 2nd Annual Holistic Wellness Expo. Last year's World Tai Chi & Qigong Day event was well attended and we expect an even better turnout this year! World Tai Chi & Qigong Day
event is to promote peace and well-being through the practice and sharing of Qigong and Taijiquan was originated by Bill Douglas 13 years ago. Since then, millions of people all over the world join with others in their individual time zone on the last Saturday in April beginning at 10am to celebrate these healing arts. In the Harlem venue, we include free healing sessions of Reiki, Thai Yoga Massage, Ki Energy treatments as well as auricular acupuncture so that community residents can experience a variety of healing options that promote self-reliance and optimal well-being.
I have been remiss in terms of my communications with this precious holistic village! I wanted to let everyone know about several exciting updates.
A lovely sister recently flew me out to Milwaukee to present her (Kemetic) wedding! I was thrilled at the prospect of divining to determine the various rituals for the ceremony.I was also scheduled do a lecture and book signing that week.
To my surprise, a week or so prior to the date the wedding was postponed until June. So more about that to come! Nonetheless, I headed out there to do the talk and book signing...
And so I wanted to share a report back to say that it was wonderful to meet an African-centered community out in a town I've never visited and rarely heard about! For those who haven't experienced this firsthand in a while, I wanted to share that we "holistic New Africans" are truly all over the country, healing, spreading our wisdom, and keeping our legacy strong!
At the event I spoke about a recent trip to the Amazon jungle where I received teachings from a 3,000-year-old "Medicine Tree!" I also shared teachings I have recently received from Olodumare (of the Yoruba tradition). He has been emphasizing the need to learn of the power of the elements, and to return to the ways of our ancestors- village life, ritual, and living in alignment with the spirits of nature. The day after the talk I did several ancestral readings, removing obstacles and revealing the soul's mission.
Finally, I wanted to share about a talk I will be doing at NYU later this month. This event is being hosted by several groups at NYU that are focusing on activism and the arts. There will be a poet who will be sharing her work that is inspired by the anti-fracking (pro-water!) movement. I will be sharing ancestral perspectives on the fracking issue, presenting messages I received from Yemaya (Yoruba goddess of the ocean) and others concerning ways that we can defend our precious water through the power of the god realms!
I was also invited to present a lecture in Atlanta, Georgia- more details to follow! (I recently spoke with Dr. Delbert Blair about the possibility of joining us...)
