Orange County in the Big Apple!

This weekend, nine OCDL students took part in the New York Debate League tournament, held at Hackley School in Tarrytown, NY (Sleepy Hollow).  The students were part of a joint delegation of Orange County schools led by Mr. David Anderson (OCDL Head Judge and Fairmont Anaheim Hills coach).

We are very proud of the hard work undertaken by all the students and their coach.  The students learned a lot and had a good time.  But perhaps most impressive was a FIRST PLACE TEAM VICTORY for the undefeated team North Tustin KSF (Sahar K, Sarah S, and Eric F)!!  In addition, Eric, Sarah, and Sahar took home speaker awards as well (7th-5th place respectively).

Also attending the tournament were the following students:
Nadia A (Fairmont North Tustin)
Stephanie A (Niguel Hills)
Nikki M (Niguel Hills)
Athena P (Fairmont North Tustin)
Zack R (Fairmont North Tustin)
Allyson R (Fairmont North Tustin)

The students and their families were in New York all weekend. We are looking forward to more travel trips for the OCDL to other MSPDP leagues around the country (maybe Seattle, Washington DC, or New Orleans) next year!
